No matter what i do, manual startup, LWin+Pos1 startup, in the tutorials ... everywhere, the ADI always shows the red flag in the upper left corner. It started a week after i installed the game, before that everything was fine. Does anyone know about that? Am i too stupid? Any tips? Thx in advance take me out to the black, tell 'em i ain't coming back, i don't care, i'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. ...still waiting for the day when the military recruits their dronepilots out of a group of flightsimgamers... nemises Posted April 5, 2009 Share Posted April 5, 2009 to be honest, I've allways wondered the same thing :) .. I know the secondary ADI can be uncaged , and shows fine, but the primary doesnt show any pitch or roll and is allways flagged as caged. ...I guess I just assumed it was normal and left it at that...it would be good of someone in the know could clarify tho :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CooperHawkes Posted April 6, 2009 Author Share Posted April 6, 2009 the adi itself works for me. it shows the pitch, bank yaw just fine. its just that the red flag can be seen always. according to the manual it only shows up if no steering information is available. i didnt edit any files, it just started one day. take me out to the black, tell 'em i ain't coming back, i don't care, i'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. ...still waiting for the day when the military recruits their dronepilots out of a group of flightsimgamers... CooperHawkes Posted April 19, 2009 Author Share Posted April 19, 2009 ok i searched the forum manually and still cant find anything about that problem. wether i start a tutorial track or start a mission where you start in air or start a mission created with the editor, my ADI always looks like in the attached screenshot. it works, it shows the same information as the SAI, but the red flag is always there. plz, can someone help me? ED? could you just say "we dont know" or something? my system specs are: intel i7 920 -hyperthreading off 12 gig DDR3 ram gtx 285 -installed drivers: 182.05 -forced settings: antistrope: 16x antistrope-transparency: multisampling antialiasing: 16Q triple-buffer: on mipmaps: trilinear (but different settings didnt change the problem) take me out to the black, tell 'em i ain't coming back, i don't care, i'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. ...still waiting for the day when the military recruits their dronepilots out of a group of flightsimgamers... I'll see if I can figure it out - I have noticed it but it never impaired my flight in any way so I didn't think about it, and I pretty much never use Flight Director either. EinsteinEP Posted April 28, 2009 Share Posted April 28, 2009 Guess: It could be a flag to indicate that there's no ILS information. Some ADIs have bars for glideslope and localizer tracking and will show a red flag if that info is not available. And I don't seem to see ILS implemented in the sim...as of yet! Shoot to Kill.
