kaiserb_uk Posted February 21, 2009 Share Posted February 21, 2009 For the last 3 years of IL2 I've been thinking about building an Aker-Barnes but actually using this: BlackShark, and an imminent collective mod from Urze has forced me to come up with something a bit better. I already had the MDF, and an hour on Google Sketchup produced this: The hardest part of any build - starting. But soon had the main pieces cut: I had help obviously: Assembled, sealed and a can of Halfords car primer later... The rear access panel for the sub woofer: The business end: Still a little bit of tweaking required to get it just right, but seems pretty good so far! kaiserb_uk Posted February 21, 2009 Author Share Posted February 21, 2009 Well it really was a sketch, just to get the concept right in my head. I wouldn't call it a 'plan' of any sort. As for the heights of the controls - the throttle is about perfect. The stick is a little low - I really need an extension for the Cougar. Mounting the stick platform at the right side it's a bit too far back for comfort. I'm going to resolve that in the near future. We'll see how the rear left platform is when the collective comes.
