1.5.5 beta - disabling TF-51 crashes the sim

some1

Recommended Posts

If you disable the TF-51 in the module manager, the simulator GUI fails to load properly the next time you start the game. Logs attached.

1.5.4 worked fine without TF-51.

Thanks, we will take a look.

In the mean time, don't disable it.

The TF-51 is part of the Sim's Base install,

Why would you disable it?

Because I can :P Seriously, it's possible in the Module Manager.

I think I disabled it because I have no intention to fly it and I already have the P-51. That was a long time ago and I forgot about it, until today's update, when the sim failed to start. :)

Fortunately I've been able to correct the lua thanks to that log and make the game running again, so I could access module manager and activate TF-51 again.

Two autoupdate logs attached. After the update when I realized the game does not start properly, I also performed a repair, but that didn't fix the issue.

  • 4 weeks later...

I've got exact same problem.

Disabled tf51 because I only wanted to play with the frogfoot and maybe buy the a10c again.

Re-started and the game loads, but does not let me log in. When I go to module manager it stops at 12% and have to force crash it.

I even re-installed the game, but something must have still remained because the tf51 was still disabled and still would not start.

I have done repair and deleted auto update.log followed by repair without luck. I tried deleting the tf51 and letting the game re-download it.

First time with this problem. You can usually disable any module if you simply wish to not display it.

I can bypass the login and use the options menu, but when you try and fly a plane the game won't load.

I am not sure how ED will handle it yet, the TF-51 is a core part of the free game, if it was me I would not allow it to be disabled, solving the problem.

ED are looking into it we will have to wait and see.

With all due respect, it was a working functionality that got broken. Saying you don't need/want it while others do is counterproductive.

I like to keep my icons on the main menu clean. I also remove modules I don't own (and not planning to buy). Otherwise it gets too crowdy out there nowadays.

If you don't want to have icon of module you don't use, just follow this https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2698773&postcount=8. You can build a JSGME/OvGME mod (easy to make) to install/uninstall before update :music_whistling:

Or just create an entry in pluginsEnabled.lua which is built-in and supported functionality that works fine (except TF-51 now), is outside of the main DCS dir and does survive a sim upgrade.

Hmm, which one do I prefer?
