Hide / delete input-devices

Recommended Posts

Hey, beside i like flight sims, i also like race-sims.

I use my Simseat for flying and driving. Because of that i have multiple devices plugged in, f.e. a H-Pattern shifter, wheel and pedals. It happens that i have REALLY alot of devices in the DCS>settings and its really annoying to scroll to the right everytime i chance or bind something, just to skip the shifter or the pedals what im obviously dont use for dcs.

So is it possible to hide specific devices?

Cheers, Mark

Look at Reddit/HOTAS - there a software that supposed do this, but I forget the name now. :)

EDIT - Is HID Guardian

That looks promising, will have a look into that, thx!

can you not reach under the desk and unplug the controllers you don't need?

No, because i got 8x USB plugged in the Mainboard, 2x at the front and im using 2x USB HUBs with 3x USB Ports. Its a pretty advanced system

I am using devreorder for this, works like a charm. Put the devreorder.ini in your main install folder (eg "DCS World 2 OpenAlpha") and the x64 dinput8.dll in the "DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin" folder. In DCS the order of the devices doesnt matter, but in older games like Il-2 1946 it does and can mess up your whole setup depending on USB VID/PID of the controller. I want to hide vJoy and reorder my input controllers, so my devreorder.ini looks like this:

; devreorder settings

; Any line starting with ; is a comment and will be ignored

[order]

; In this section write the names of your controllers in the

; order you want them to be detected, one per line. Make sure

; they exactly match the name printed in the Game Controllers

; control, panel, including any capital letters and

; punctuation.

; (To open the Game Controllers control panel, press Win+R,

; type joy.cpl into the dialog box, and press enter.)

; Example:

; vJoy Device

; Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)

T.16000M

Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals

Ruderpedale

[hidden]

; In this section, write the names of controllers that you

; want to be hidden. Again their name must exactly match

; the name printed in the Game Controllers control panel.

; Example:

; Wireless Controller

vJoy Device
