We're exited to let you guys know that the delay wont last long! Top Gun R2 has been cleared for take off on this coming Saturday 21st of November so the first weekend of matches will be 21st-22nd. Thanks to unwavering commitment from both Mr Stuge and the the TAW testing crew led by OverG, the mission is now working as intended under the current version of DCS (1.5.1.47025 Update 1).

Please drop us a line the earliest you can to confirm your slot or if for whatever reason you wont be available to show up on the 21st or the 22nd to let us know so we can invite people from the waiting list. Confirmation deadline is Wednesday November 18th.

Kindly do not update straight away if another version or update of DCS comes out in the meantime and instead wait for it to be confirmed working properly with Top Gun R2. We will post whether it is compatible or not in this very thread as soon as tested out.

The SA team would like to thank you for your patience and understanding and we hope that you will enjoy your PvP dogfighting experience in Top Gun R2.

Absolutely possible if TAW_FiveNine agrees and the host is available; here is how to proceed to request a re-schedule:

- Contact your opponent directly (send a PM) and see when you will both be able to fly during any weekday but before the next Saturday (28th of November); please always refer to the master clock displayed on the event page to avoid confusion time-wise.

Also if your opponent does not have a forum account here (signed up by a teammate, please contact the one who signed him up)

- Once agreed on the possible dates, please contact HiJack(TAW_OverG) and see if the server and a referee would be available on any of the possible dates and times

- If unable to agree on an alternate date or find a host/referee, contact me and will sort it out: either I will find a host for you if alternate dates are possible for both players, invite a reserve participant to replace you or declare a win by walk over.

That's why its always best to fly per the official schedule but if not possible there will still be a chance to reschedule but thats also up to your opponent and the host; bottom line try it may work, its always better than loosing your slot without flying.

N3uro, you will also have to check with Stuge as well as the winner will be going against him on Sunday, so that's two opponents to confirm with asap and be done flying before the next Saturday:)

Ah, i see; I have to leave soon and I'll be in the mountains with very spotty interwebs, I think it's best for all involved if someone else takes my spot entirely :) I'll be in at the next occasion. Sorry for the hassle! :(

Honestly guys with the current 1.5 build memory leak, and 20 sec constant freezes in any MP mission, I think it would be safe to say DCS Beta is currently unflyable.

Most of the 51st guys are seriously reconsidering our participation as the latest patch made things much worse in terms of stability.

Any event should probably wait till release version is out.... IMO.

That might more of a problem on the bigger servers with lots of players. Saying that I may not be free this weekend...

Memory leak should not interfere with an event like this since the mission will be restarted after each round with each round lasting no more than 10/15mn. It has been tested extensively and is working flawlessly.

Thanks for all the time and work you, Stuge and TAW are putting into this tournament.

I'm flying myself on a long trip this weekend but I will see if I can reschedule. I will advise no later than Tuesday. The weekend of November 28-29 is Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the US and my guess is that many of the Americans including myself will be unable to particpate that weekend as well. There's also the F-86 - Mig-15 tournament which is scheduled for sometime in December.

I went on the DCS Israel server this weekend for gunzo dogfights and saw no technical or stability issues. I think for 1v1 & 2v2 dogfight matches the current build seems fine.

I'm available next weekend and taking part to the competition.

If you wanted to take part in this and could not sign up on time, you could do it now but first see which slots are open (see first post) then submit your application in this very thread; all new registrations will be handled on first come first served basis. The only condition is that the substitute must not be ranked by SA or have a lower ranking than the player he intends to replace; this is because the draws are already set and seeding must remain on.

Not sure if you checked the match schedule on the official page of the event....your match number is 42 and is scheduled for Sunday 22nd at 2000 UTC (master clock is also thicking there to give people one time reference and avoid timezone confusion)

Try to check with NOB_Aries and see if he can fly on Saturday instead of Sunday and if ok then let me know and will try to swap your match with another to find you a host on Saturday. Please always agree on time according to master clock. Let me know asap and will now mark your slot as "rescheduling"

Edit: the 1v1 clashes with the 2v2 time. Hmmm...perhaps we can reschedule the 2v2 a little later that day since the server is still tbd? The fight themselves shouldnt take longer than 15mins.

Edit2: It seems my opponent cant make it. If there is a replacement can we reschedule for sat evening instead of sunday afternoon? Thanks.

Just for reference, as some should know, any event or tournament, once the draw is posted it should never be alterted or manipulated under any circumstances. Basic sporting code 101.

Now, I could understand postponing due to severe technical concerns, given the 1.5 beta is indeed in quite a sorry MP state at this moment, but to reinstate just a week later, when a more unstable patch just came out, sounds more like a move out of convenience for some, rather than logic...?

My two cents on the matter..

Tek was seeded #4 for this tournament and ranked 10th by SA while Seetricks is not ranked yet therefore can not be a seeded player. So I gave Seetricks N3uro's slot. Tek got replaced by WinchesterDelta1 who was also first on the waiting list and is also an SA-ranked pilot.

Regarding your 1v1 timing, for now you have no opponent but if you ever get one then we will work out another time so it does not clash with your 2v2 fight.

FYI, one round should take around 10/15mn but to win a fight you must win 4 rounds (best of 7 rounds).

Hey Tim, not sure what you meant. Anyway and as already stated, MP-related issues did not let us finish the testing of the mission so we had no choice but to postpone. Now we have reached the point where the mission works just fine, so action time :)
