104th please allow Tacview. New version is thing that we waiting long time. :)

Cobra just announced that this Fridays patch (that will Include the Viggen)

Will be a new Open Beta Version 1.5.6.

And since that is the case will the 104th remain on the stable version until its updated or go to the Open Beta Version to implement the Viggen?

I know you usually tend to stay on the Stable version of DCS but will this be an exception (due to the Addition of the Viggen) since i know alot of ppl are excited about the Viggen including allot of 104th players.

Give us some more time to evaluate it mate. Once we're sure it cannot be exploited we will activate it on our server.

We hoped to do it sooner than this but all our admins are really busy with other real world stuff at the moment.

Unfortunately, yes. If you are pressed for HDD space you may need to make a decision on rather to uninstall the release version or not.

If you refer to the Leatherneck thread on this, there is a program you can download that just quickly patches your release stable version to beta, and back.

Saves installing two clients etc.

For the guys that don't have space on their HDD you can force the release version to open beta by editing the autoupdate.cfg file with in your Dcs main folder by using Notepad++. All you have to do is add a line that reads: "branch": "openbeta", and save it, relaunch DCS and it will begin the update as normal. To convert back to the release just replace "branch": "openbeta", with "branch": "release",

So just to be clear on this, if I do the above my game runs as open beta and if I undo it it's back to normal? No data loss/overwriting no nothing?

After a long absence we finally got Simple Radio working again on our server.

Turned out to be a pesky firewall issue!

Tried the autoexec.cfg to no avail. Your server crashes my game. Is simple radio required?

Are SAM crate spawns working in the Operation Watcher mission? Me and a couple Huey pilots were doing some helo logistics, and after clearing the FARPs of enemy troops still couldn't find the crate spawns.

Is it possible to do the same with the steam version?

you have to bring 3 FOB crates to build a FOB at the farp first. pls read the briefing again.

Same here I don't have it on Steam I am just trying to have some "Steam" friends joining me on hello missions that can't see the 104th server on the multiplayer list. :thumbup:

Tell them to install beta intaller into their steam directory. Once the shortcuts are created the updater will recognize the files in the steam directory.
