Puma
Hey simmers. Im trying to refine my ccip approach, and follow the 476th battle book and using the classic 82 30DB2 profile. Im working through the math and I think Ive got most of it figure out. In this video demo, he dials in -34 to depress his fixed gun cross so that he can simplfy the initial alignment by simply placing it on the aop. I cant make the math for that profile produce -34. Where did he get that from? Input I am working with: Dive angle -30 deg. Ihp 178 mils. Iaa 6 deg Ipp 243 (pretty sure this is not relevant for this calculation) Edited April 4, 2020 by Puma Forgot link Custom Pit 476 Recruiting i9-12900KF, 32 GB DDR5, Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Master, Gigabyte RTX 2080 Ti, 1TB Sabrent Roket 4+ 2x750GB RAID-0, TrackIR 5 /w clip, CRG9 49” Curved Ultrawide Flight Display+15" Touchscreen+17" Gauges display, Thrustmaster Warthog+7.5cm, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, Streamdeck, Butt Kicker and pneumatic G-Seat
Eddie
It appears he's misunderstood/misexplained the purpose of of setting 34 mil depression on the pipper. It has nothing to do with the specific delivery profile you're flying, or any element of it. Setting the pipper to -34 mils gives you a reference for where the TVV will sit if you stop the pull and roll out at any given moment. It's just an assist for getting your nose position right. It's a good initial tutorial for those unfamiliar with realistic weapon deliveries, but does contain a few errors/omissions. Most significant is that Mk-82 profiles don't work for BDU-33s, you need a BDU-33 profile for that, so many of the numbers are off due to that. Puma
Ok got it. I aspire to care about ALL the numbers, but confess Im not there yet. This is a good baby step technique and once I master that I’ll get into full z diagrams. Been a great learning experience. I get a laugh that ccip starts out as “simple: put the thing on the thing”, and turns into all this amazing complexity. Love this sim and the 476th work on it. Thanks Eddie!
