bolek
Is there any public information available about the usage/operation of the RL Hornet radar? I am asking about A-A modes only, like RWS/TWS/STT etc.? The NATOPS manuals that are posted here seem to have this section missing and listed as classified. But somehow this will be implemented so some information must be available? If not, how relevant to F/A-18C (lot 20) would the similar info from F-16 MLU be (since it seems publicly available)? Is it similar or not at all? Thanks
feefifofum
My guess (and it is definitely only a guess) is that you might find more relevant data on the AN/APG-63 in the F-15 non-nuclear weapons delivery manual. This is unclassified and the 63 designed by the same company as the RADAR in the F/A-18C. Just search those terms and it should pop up. aceofspades9963
Not sure how good the vrs superbug is but I've been getting my fix looking at a/a radar of that. I believe that models the 73 not the AESA. It seems to have all the same modes and symbology , could be a help ?

Beamscanner
http://www.aircraft-reports.com/mc-donnell-douglas-f-a-18-a-b-c-d-aircraft-organizational-maintenance-principles-of-operation-radar-system-manual-a1-f18ac-742-100/ This is as close as i could get.. The AN/APG-65 principles of operation (maintenance manual). (early lot F/A-18C) While still not the golden egg, much closer than the AN/APG-63 manual. EDIT: I can say that it explains quite a lot about the functionality and display of the radar in RWS, TWS, STT, etc. Edited April 26, 2018 by Beamscanner
