grammaton_feather
Mig 21 is pretty much unusable at this time in VR (vive). I'm running a Ryzen 1700 at 3.875ghz, GTX 1070 and the fps is too low for this aircraft particularly on dcs 1.5. 8700k brings a needed FPS boost but I'm wondering if it would make the mig 21 playable? My guess is that even at 5ghz plus it wont....
feefifofum
As a rule of thumb, DCS runs very poorly on AMD systems. DCS only uses 3 cores of the processor, with the majority of load on a single core. AMD's architecture tends to depend on large numbers of slower cores, whereas intel tends to use fewer, more powerful cores. As a result, you'll see much better performance in DCS on an Intel system, even if the total processor speed is slower than your AMD rig. Yar, primary use is 3d rendering but I do like my vr and i can't help wanting high gaming fps. I love overclocking as well so would be aiming for beyond 5ghz.
