Doesn't seem so. My other modules are fine, but most (not all .. strangely) of my F/A-18 binds were zapped. Could have done with a warning in the changelog so we could back up prior to update, but hey, they don't even provide an accurate changelog anyway.
Well at least it's just for the hornet because I have like 4-5 other modules I would hate to have to rebind all of them.

I also heard people trying to load their backed up profile in dcs after the update and it didn't do anything either.

While this is kind of a bummer, at least it only takes like 10 mins at the most to fix...

Exactly,

That's why I don't make overly complex setups. I just put what the real airframe has for hotas, and move on. That way it is easy for times like this

The controls were probably reset due to the addition of the NVG keybinds.

After updating I threw in my modified default.luas, knowing I couldn't test the NVGs without updating them, and still lost mappings. So definately something deeper inside.

Should the lua files have most of the options listed and no buttons listed as assigned?

I loaded the lua that doesnt have the bindings I had before the update and there is not much to it. Pov hat commands deadzone, etc. The filesize is half of the other lua with all my binds.

I checked the syntax from the updated and my old lua file for the nosewheel button and its the same.

Same as others, I have tried loading profiles in the settings and nothing changes. Copied lua files from a backup image from before the patch and nothing changes. The file sizes for the joystick lua go from 3k to 6k but none of the buttons work.

I didnt loose all my keybindings, but many. Looks like certain categories got swiped. HOTAS category for example. All my Axis binding are still there.

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

I wonder if it has to do with setting administrative rights...I know I had problems changing HUD colors due to some permission settings which I overcame by moving the original lua to desktop and then inserting the modified copy...but it would not rewrite the existing lua while in the working folder...wonder if that might be at play here...maybe not

Copy and pasted my 3 lua's and overwrote just fine.

Another question: How many of you are using some sort of head-tracking devices? Like TrackIR? I noticed that when I started DCS World sometimes without the tracking device active, I had problems with losing some assignments....don't know why, but there it is...and not just the TrackIR assignments

Can anyone tell me what the push to talk commands are called for the radios

I'm downloading now, anything I should do to not have to go through remapping again?
In your saved games location under config/input for the f18 copy your joystick and throttle lua files somewhere.

After the update installs you can load the lua files through dcs in game in the controls section.

I will report back once I am home and try it. I've always been able to backup and load it this way each update. Unless something major changed which sounds like the case.

I have been trying to find the radio PTT command in DCS and I noticed that my stick buttons are not recognized the same in DCS as they are in Simple Radio

Anyone else notice this?

This is the least advised way, according to ED, especially when dealing with a WIP module.

Assignments and commands change a lot during the first stages of development and continues to through out its life cycle.

While your advice does work it might lead to problems.

So...

Do backup your assignments from the saved game folder...but...only use them if there is no update.

After an update or reinstall after an update the best effective way is make everything fresh.

Just write everything down if and when.

Just my 2 cents.
