Sold my 1080

Awaiting the MSI1080ti gamer X should be within the next month

Based on available info I'm expecting around a 10 to 15% boost in DCS

Gone back to my old gtx 780 Titan

I only use VR & the gtx10 series are very optimised for VR

So there's really no comparison , my 1080 was good the ti version will be the icing on the cake

I'm also curious how the 1080 ti performs - especially in VR :)

My expectation after research is that the new gtx 1080ti is performing factor 1.5 against my gtx 980ti. So VR ASW always on and have always 90 fps on my rift? Cranking settings up? What are your thoughts about it? (nobody has one yet?)

A factor of 1.5 sounds nice :) I would be very happy when this is achieved in DCS.

Personally, I'm hoping for better FPS.

Increased pixel density would also be nice. But I'll have to test if it really looks better. Many people state that they don't see much difference for PD>1.5. I've actually gone down from 1.8 to 1.6 meanwhile, because of the FPS.

Also shadows would be great - at least for the cockpit. If turned them of completely for VR.

Don't know about the actual status in DCS though. Maybe they don't eat as much FPS as in the past :dunno:

But yeah, also looking forward to the reports from first people who get it :bounce:

I don't have the DCS results yet, but here is my comparison between my SLI 980s and a single 1080TI: http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/12004394/fs/11491535

I did a super quick test in VR (again, not what you asked about exactly) and I can tell it is MUCH smoother even with this non-VR friendly patch. I went from 30/60 FPS depending on the cockpit and very jittery since it was 30 FPS... to perfectly smooth (don't have an FPS count because it was a quick test before bed). This is with PD at 1.5 and all settings on my desktop graphical settings... so a lot of things were maxed.

Perfect, just what the expectations where! I think ASW is kicked in, all the time.

Thank you very much StandingCow. I can't wait for the beloved MSI version.
