What did i break?

Recommended Posts

So i installed the new DCS World patch over my existing game.

I opened up again and it was telling me i needed to buy the P-51.

Ok - so then I reinstalled my P-51 and it's back.

But now whenever I go to a mission with the P-51 it sounds like the starter motor is constantly cranking and I can't start the engine?

I go to an air start and the prop is just dead.

I would guess you should not install over the last version,

You need to do a fresh install of 1.1.2.1

It was't a patch, it was the complete product. Remove it and reinstall with only v1.1.2.1 files.

it says it's a patch. I got the torrent. and it was only very small.

see:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/patches/dcs-world_patch_1.1.2.1_en/

Sorry about that. I had not realized that they finally produced that.

I would still say do a full install. DCS products, historically, have been hit or miss with regard to successful patching. So, even though a patch was produced, I would not be inclined to trust it.

I have done a full install for every DCS product, instead of patching, without exception, for every update. I don't even download the patches.;)

EDIT: I also do not see a patch for DCS P-51, just World, although both v1.1.2.1 updates came out at the same time. Here is the link to a full install of World and Mustang v1.1.2.1.
