Interesting video - Fly an Airplane With NO HELP

Interesting to see from someone with no flying experience at all.

He has a lot of experience in many other very high powered vehicles.

Did quite well considering and it was a little windy.

I've seen similar stuff before, and based on my own experiences moving to the real thing, it definitely made a huge difference. I mean, knowing what everything is and the basic concepts and what you should do and when... that's like 99% of it right there. Flying itself really isn't that terribly hard once you get past the unfamiliarity and information overload.

But I'll tell ya what... moving to VR was an even bigger difference. I caught myself making the EXACT SAME mistakes that I was commiting in RL and was able to correct/break those tendencies. The different perspective in 2d, imo, it helps offload some of the ''alienness'' of the environment making it easier to think impartially. The VR aspect, puts me in the 'same' mental state, and is a much better tool. Ymmv, but my experience anyway.
