Recommendation for Win 10 compatible gamepad with throttle?

Recommended Posts

I've been using Logitech's Wingman Cordless Rumblepad. I'm looking for a replacement that is also compatible with Flaming Cliffs 3. Cordless would be a big plus.

Why a gamepad instead of a joystick? In a word: portability.

Please advice. Thank you

Any device that shows up as Windows Joystick will work, no? FC's doesn't have clickable cockpits, so you're not looking for a HOTAS solution anyway.

Xbox controller for example would work, as would any other.

No. Pitch control on the y-axis in this **particular game pad** works fine in Microsoft Flight Simulator 10 but not in FC3.

Why that is, I don't know. I am assuming it is a compatibility issue that applies only to FC3 with Win 10 because my Logitech **joystick works** with both but unfortunately it is not as portable as the game pad. It is also not cordless.

You mean you see the Y axis work in Control pane (as axis)l but it can't be assigned in DCS? DCS won't even recognize it if you Axis-assign it?

Yes. The Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad has two mini-joysticks controlled by your thumbs. The right one works with the yaw (left-right bank) only.

I tried assigning the pitch movement or y axis to the right joystick but I couldn't get it to work.

It only works on the left mini-joystick.

If I get a chance, I'll hook up the wireless Xbox controller to DCS. It may be that the right one is not analog or broken? Does Windows Control Panel, Joystick see it as working?

Yes, the Control Panel see's it as working and so does Microsoft Flight Simulator x. By the way, I'm using Windows 10 Creator's Update.

I'm on the latest Win10. Xbox wireless controller works just fine. I just added pitch and roll to the left stick, rudder to the right stick. and Throttle to the LT and RT buttons. All worked as expected.

T51D, NTTR. No issues.
