Default P-38 Lightning

Any love for the P-38 out there? Of all the ww2 aircraft this one was what I was most interested in.

Love the Lightning as well. Would love to see it, but I believe it was primarily utilized in the Pacific /Chinese_Burma and North African theaters of operation and not so much in the Normandy area.

Regardless, would still love to see it as an A.I. aircraft.

Yeah.....P-38 is my absolute fave of all WWII ac. It is followed closely by the F4U. I have seen both discussed here but never any real talk of having them as modules in the near future. When ED or one of it's partners announce anything, it usually takes well over a year after the announcement. Sometimes several years so It's not in the cards for the foreseeable future in my book.

OOOhhh... I would love, almost cherish a P-38 module, or any other twin engine prop aircraft, A-20, JU88, Mosquito, B25 or 26, TU-2, PE-3, Ki-67.

Meh, there are other bombers I'd like to see in DCS before the P-38.

Shots fired...lol

The plane was widely used in Europe, but it didn't enjoy as much success as the P47, and P51. Still though the plane was beautiful. In an alternate setting the plane could actually do very differently. It was designed to be a bomber intercepter. Of course that was never needed, but it still turned out to be a decent fighter.

Also If you're modeling the air corps of ww2 in Europe, it'd be nice to have the big three fighters modelled...51, 47, 38

I also would love to see the P38 as well as the P47 and Me 262. I am currently busy flying those planes in the old Il2-Sturmovik 1946 game. Those versions, of course, are nowhere as realistic as the DCS planes, but given that's all there is right now, that is what I have to go with.

Count me in. It was used extensively in Europe for reconnaissance, so probably not a lot of fun for some.
