- Starts will be air start.

- Starting distance will be 50km from each other head-on at 10000ft 400kts.

- Fuel dumping is allowed.

- Weapons hold until after the first pass. Definition of merge: when EITHER fighter passes the other fighter's 3/9 line and the fighters are within 1 nm from each other (within weapons range).

- Combatants must fly towards each other before merge. Maximum nose deviation from the opponent must be kept within 70 degrees until the first pass/merge.

- Within these parameters maneuvering before the merge is FREE - for example, steep dives to the ground are allowed to force the merge lower.

- Extending away from the fight for the purpose of resetting to a new merge, or to attempt to reacquire a lost tally, is allowed. However, extending purely to drag out the fight and play fuel games is highly discouraged and such passive tactics may up in disqualification, this will ultimately be decided by the referee and/or review from the Tacview file.

- If there is significant damage to your jet, fully passive and defensive tactics are OK.

- After eliminating your opponent, the combatant must land at the designated airfield inside the bubble.

- There is a bubble that will simulate an arena. This bubble is 66km across.

- If you come within 16km of bubble edge you will receive a warning that you are leaving the bubble.

- Fuel dumping is allowed.

- Weapons are free and maneuvering is unrestricted from the very start of the round. There are no tactical limitations to what each team does. Everything is allowed.

- If the situation deteriorates to 1v1, with no damage to either fighter, passive tactics are discouraged similarly to the 1v1 rounds. Fight like a man, don't run away!

- If the situation is 1v2, or 1v1 and there is significant damage to your jet, fully passive and defensive tactics are OK.

- After eliminating your opponent, the combatant must land at the designated airfield inside the bubble.

- There is a bubble that will simulate an arena. This bubble is 66km across.

Where to meet at event start and before your match.

Instead of having everyone join us on Discord I am going to have everyone join our Teampseak instead. Please arrive in TS at least 30 min before match time so that we can get you organized and ready to go. I will be assigning server assignments soon.

Anything about ping limit? @Moltar

Ping limit is 250 and will be enforced. I know this prohibits some people from participating, but we have to draw the line somewhere and if we let it get too high it effects game play.

Do you have to stick to the plane that you sign up with or are you allowed to switch in some situations, like between matches like in previous Top guns?

Unlike previous Top Gun events aircraft selection will be enforced. You are allowed to change aircraft up until Top Gun officially starts on January 19th, but after that you will be required to fly in the aircraft you first flew in per class. You are allowed to fly in different aircraft for different classes. For example, you are allowed to use the F15 for 1v1 and the Su27 for 2v2.

Any chance of 270 even 260? This will stop some pilots flying, WE have 2 pilots at at like 256 ping, So theres no need for them to apply to future events :/

Even as a test? And lets be honest ED net code sucks anyway.

Not going to raise the ping limit as then when do you draw the line? Do I just let people in that are close by 10, 20, 30? Where do you stop. Because of that I think it is necessary to establish a hard line and that line in a lot of servers is 250.
