@59th_Punch The website (www.dcskneeboardbuilder.com) is back online and a new version that fixed the bug that we had has been uploaded. I don't know what had happened to both the program and the website, but everything seems to be fine again.

Thanks for the heads up, but the latest version on the website 1.8.0.6 does not work for me:

Hi,

Just wanted to tell @AlaskanGrizzly that the problem seems to have been on my end .. I deleted the whole KneeboardBuilder program folder, including my current Groups, re-installed and now the program works fine, tough of course I will have to re-create my Groups ... not a biggie as my original kneeboards documents are in Word format on a cloud drive, so I have not lost any data:

Amazing how this Utility keeps working 7 years after its birth and it is still so useful and invaluable, I use it a lot whenever I'm learning a new aircraft, so thanks a lot for its creation AG 👍

Best regards,

Eduardo

Since a few weeks, I have a problem with the kneeboard builder:
I can import a PDF kneeboard (and it also gets correctly converted), but when I click on ".miz" to add the kneeboard to a mission, the kneeboardbuilder app waits about one second and then just shuts down.

No error message or similar. I also looked out for a log file but was not able to find one.

Any suggestions? Already did a new installation and of course updated to the newest version.

Check the paths that you have on the KneeboardBuilder.exe.Config file, mine is like this:

My path is correct.

Don't know what else could be wrong. If you want, you can try my version of this software (1.8.0.6)

Even using this one I`ve got the same error here.....

Maybe the error is caused by something within your KB data .. I would try to rename or move somewhere else the sub-folders Config and Kneeboard Groups, to let the KB create them from scratch.

I`ve tryed what you sad but still the same here.

Bummer, I'm out of ideas .. hopefully the author of KB, @AlaskanGrizzly , will check on this and suggest something else.

You are using DCS Stable? .. on the OpenBeta DCS has added new kneeboard functionality that allow you to resize and move the KB within DCS, so this part of Kneeboard Builder is not needed anymore:

I'm still having that problem, no more idea how I could solve it. Re-installed Kneeboard Builder multiple times and it always crashes as soon as I click ".miz". No crash log, no error message.
Highly appreciate any help, I really need that piece of software often as I make a lot of missions for my squad...

No matter how I set the KB profile, the KB keeps showing up on the bottom right of my second screen and the top left of my first screen per the setup in KB.  Any thoughts?

Just a guess since I've never tried using this feature of Kneeboard Builder, but I suspect that that feature was broken by recent DCS updates that made the kneeboard moveable and resizable within DCS itself.

you are probably using dcs stable... in the openbeta the kneeboard can Be moved-resized without the need of external programs ... yiu can wait for Stable to be updated, ir move to openbeta.

Two things.  First I am using the open beta version only.  Second, I had a typo in my question above and here it is corrected:

No matter how I set the KB profile, the KB keeps showing up on the bottom right of my second screen INSTEAD OF the top left of my first screen per the setup in KB.  Any thoughts.

My guess is that  sthompson (above) might be right.

KBB was built before the current DCS kneeboard. Whatever settings KBB makes are not used by DCS anymore. Further, if you are using VR KBB has never understood to properly create a profile for a VR environment.

Just ignore that KBB was ever able to create a profile, way-back-when. Move the kneeboard with your mouse to where you want it when you first enter your aircraft and the issue is solved.

Captain Orso

I think you are probably right, however, as I also use Helios, my second screen has the cockpit and it covers up the KB so I have to do a little dance to get everything right.

Hi!

Install and setup runs fine, i can create a group and run the "Build custom kneeboard" comman/button. When I check under "options-kneeboard profiles" the "modify" selection i grayed e.g. no profiles are available to be modified. What gives?I run the DCS Beta.

Thx in advance,

/RS

Don't use Profiles, those were meant to move and resize the Kneeboard in older versions of DCS. The current Openbeta has that functionality built in.
