kowalski655
Ran the latest update & tried to start as I just bought 3 new modules. Nothing happens,I get a quick flash of a task bar that I think says "authenticating data" but its too quick to read, then nothing. So I used the uninstall programme, and re-download the installer, and reinstall the game,at the same location on my F drive. Exactly the same, nothing starts :( Any suggestions so I can fly my new stuff(and my old stuff-lots of money invested in DCS to waste
Rudel_chw
... Any suggestions so I can fly my new stuff(and my old stuff-lots of money invested in DCS to waste Rename your /saved games/dcs/ or /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ folder ... then launch DCS, it will generate a new default /saved games/ folder ... if the game now starts, then the cause of the crash is something on your old folder, most likely a user Mod that isnt compatible with the new version of DCS that you have. kowalski655
Thank you good Sir, that fixed it. IIRC I had the A4, F16 & something else so that must have been the problem I REALLY wish I had asked before uninstalling & having to put back 108 Gb (at 1.8 Mb/s download max!) AND reconfiguring all the HOTAS buttons The new install insisted on starting in VR mode(so no use when trying to use the module manager, but a quick Google fixed that Thanks again
Rudel_chw
Thank you good Sir, that fixed it. IIRC I had the A4, F16 & something else so that must have been the problem You are welcome .. I use a Mod Manager (OvGME) so that I can disable all Mods before letting DCS update, that way I can test a clean DCS post update and only afterwards do re-enable my Mods. I REALLY wish I had asked before uninstalling & having to put back 108 Gb (at 1.8 Mb/s download max!) AND reconfiguring all the HOTAS buttons No need to reconfigure the Hotas, my suggestion of letting DCS create a default saved games folder was just to diagnose the cause of the crash .. afterwards you could have just copied from the old saved games over to the new, the Hotas config is at /saved games/dcs/Config/ ... just copy the whole folder. Rudel_chw
Also, copy from the old folder the following subfolders: /MissionEditor (contains your Logbook) /Missions (contains your custom missions) /Liveries (contains custom liveries) /Screenshots (contains old screenshots that you may have taken) /Kneeboard (contains custom kneeboards) /Tracks (contains tracks of your multiplayer games) :) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
DmitriKozlowsky
I have same problem. But having fresh Saved Games did not fix issue. As Fed. 15, 2019 update, DCS no longer works for me.
Rudel_chw
I have same problem. But having fresh Saved Games did not fix issue. As Fed. 15, 2019 update, DCS no longer works for me. In that case, try running a DCS Repair .. you can use this utility for that: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2646261&postcount=6 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Rudel_chw
Did that. No change. DCS is DOA! Can you upload your dcs.log file to take a look at possible causes? .. its at /saved games/dcs/logs/ For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600X - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia GTX1070ti - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar - Oculus Rift CV1 Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
