swagchimp
What is the wheel brake purge function in the controls menu? I searched the manual but didn't find anything.
Beta Sokol
I think, the switch is for the instructor, to release brake pressure over a valve if the student brakes to hard… It avoids slipping, tire bursts and other dangerous situations.
AcroGimp
Let's the instructor fail the brakes from the back seat, scares the crap out of you since brakes are for steering as well. swagchimp
Oh alright, thanks. Seems like the manual isn't quite ready for release yet.
Jetstreamsky
How do you set Parking Brake, the landing tutorial asks for it, but I can't find any mapping and the mouse input doesn't work, so I cannot continue the tutorial?
ED Team NineLine Posted August 3, 2018 ED Team Share Posted August 3, 2018 Its called Wheel Brake lock. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Jetstreamsky
Well partially got it to work by using WHEEL BRAKE INCREASE command to maximum and then WHEEL BRAKE LOCK which moves the lock lever over, but immediately releases again. At least I can continue through the tutorial though.
Jetstreamsky
Its called Wheel Brake lock. Thanks, but it didn't work until I also used the WHEEL BRAKE INCREASE command to maximum load before engaging the lock.
ED Team NineLine Posted August 3, 2018 ED Team Share Posted August 3, 2018 It's a little tricky, basically, hold the brakes full on, then hold the brake lock, while holding brake lock, release the brakes gently. AcroGimp
In real Yak you have to squeeze the brake lever then set a lever lock that holds it full on. Ideally the brake lever should be a slider, on/off results in a lot of tire squeal. 'Gimp (DISCO vVMFA-122) Yeah, still need a handbrake handle for my Spit too, until then I just use a pedal brake axis. Jetstreamsky
I think I created my own problem as I use a rocker switch for braking as my pedal brake axis doesn't work one side. On other aircraft it works fine using one rocker direction to brake and the other to set park, but in this case the brake is off in mid rocker position and so the park mode doesn't engage.
