Matchstick
Would not surprise me if DCS in a few years was crawling with LCA/COIN planes and other for export combat hardware targeted at developing countries like the Hawk 200 and L-159 Seems very plausible though maybe not the Hawk after the problems with the previous version

hamza_Khan
This is kind of stupid question, but does anyone know where are speed brakes located on thunder? I was not yet seen a picture or video of the thunder with its airbrakes deployed. Share the picture too if anyone has it.
AeriaGloria
Ask and ye shall receive:pilotfly:. I have some others but I’ve posted them before on this thread so the site won’t let me upload them again(one silhouetted with vapor should be few pages back). They usually are painted with black edges. AeriaGloria
After a quick read of the rules to make sure I won’t be banned and only feeling slightly better here you go. I also found another interesting air brake shot I haven’t posted before, with AB at same time I wonder if they are deploying faster than it leaves AB. And why not post a bunch of photos of joint exercises? EDIT: I am seriously doubting if I have violated rule 1.16 in probably most of my posts this thread.... Ramsay
EDIT: I am seriously doubting if I have violated rule 1.16 in probably most of my posts this thread.... AFAIK Rule 1.16 (in general) applies to aircraft manufacture's manuals, performance specs., Airforce SOP documents i.e. if you were to share pages taken from (or links to) a PAF JF-17 manual, you would be in direct violation of 1.16. Public documents, brochures, airshow/museum stills, etc. should be ok but 1.16 is written to allow for the removal of problematic images and posts i.e. due copyright and/or technical thesis that, though "public", are considered to cover "sensitive" information. In all cases ED have the final say on what is/isn't allowed, so if a post / link is removed by a mod, you should adjust future posting accordingly. i9 9900K @4.7GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 10 Pro x64, 1920X1080

Paradox
It will probably be block II, so even later. It is an export aircraft so nothing is in it that China needs extreme strict control over like a domestic only plane might. I really think it was the stars aligning giving us a Chinese developer that AVIC apparently trusts and being able to do this plane. What surprises me more is that the plane was chosen by poll. I think back then it was said block I to keep our expectations in check and see how development goes. But so many of the weapons are Block II now, there’s an AAR refueling switch! I don’t think they are developing it on speculation, they have manuals practice in the real sim, sounds like they even have contacts with PAF and have visited the factories that make some of the weapons. Hell they visited Topeka Kansas just to document their J-8II Pearl of Peace even though is not yet any concrete plans other then eventual AI. I think we are in good hands:) AAR You say!?!?! I thought that was a block III feature along with the helmet mounted sight Do we know if AAR is to be simulated in the DCS JF-17? The probes are an optional, external attachment type thing I believe, similar to those on the A4 skyhawk
AeriaGloria
It’s a block II feature from 229 on. It’s been sounding like they will add block II features down the road. We will have KG600 and other recently certified weapon systems(GB-6?) there is some serious evidence for block II. It is unclear if there has been any upgrading of previous blocks, for example the recently overhauled jets I heard were not upgraded to block II standard. It’s kind of a murky question right now, koaqumba seems to know what’s up and occasionally chimes in to say block II is most likely on the way and not to lose hope. Otherwise the Myanmar livery would be fictional if it was block I:) Koaqumba had also posted a photo of an AAR switch, don’t know if it was in game or not or a screenshot from a video;) Since the first block II with AAR was #29(229), the only physically noticeable difference AFAIK would be OBOGS for the first 28 made Edited November 9, 2019 by AeriaGloria Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

kaoqumba
At present, everything is going well. The evaluation is "very good". This week, the avionics equipment will be tested. AeriaGloria
GB-6 GB-6 GB-6!!! Love the detail. Interesting how the boundary layer bleed system is smaller on the bottom of the left intake compared to right. Also the the ripples in the skin under the LERX! Wonder what the RAM intakes are behind the main LG doors on both sides? VC
Does the JF-17 have access to any medium range SARH missiles? I'm just thinking ahead, there are some nice servers where ARH Fox 3 are banned. All other aiframes have a Fox 1 to fall back on, but looks like JF-17 will potentially lose all BVR capability in a "no Fox 3" server. :( VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting!
