Arbil
I get the same thing but it only seems to happen in FLIR white hot mode.
julianes
Same for me, also happens with the MAVF display.
Roosterfeet
Flying Stable 2.5.6.49798 and I'm having the same problem with the FLIR in WHT mode. I've found a work around though. I put my FLIR image on the AMPCD (bottom display) and it's much easier to see. The image doesn't get blown out (even by fire and smoke) and the text overlay is always legible. The only problem is, I can't switch to ATRK or PTRK from the AMPCD, that only works with the left or right DDI. Still, I can get business done without the new tracking modes. Biga42
This A10 at night, impossible to see anything in TAD nor TGP inside cockpit. I have 3 monitors, 1 for left MPCD and another for TGP. The strange is, I can see in these monitors what I cant in cockpit. DCS latest release and Nvidia Latest drivers.
Harker
I'm not convinced this is so much a bug (OK, the bloom effect could be adjusted) as much automatic gain and level not working. I've been able to get a good night picture in FLIR, but only by manually adjusting these settings. As for the TAD in the A-10C, adjusting the MFCD brightness and contrast also helps a lot. Roosterfeet
Can you manually adjust the level and gain in the F18? The switches at the corner of the DDI don't seem to do anything right now. Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5600 XT
Furiz
Well the problem is, that when you go BHOT on the flir, something burning, if you focus it, will turn black and the rest, because it is cold will go white bright, it shouldn't go bright, it should be greyish. Biga42
I've realized that all images in my 2 others monitors are quite good, the problem is what is shown in cockpit. I had this problem with the AV8B, but since patch 2.5.6.49798 it was fixed: MPCD + HUD Night mode update wondering what they did to fix it... Harker
Can you manually adjust the level and gain in the F18? The switches at the corner of the DDI don't seem to do anything right now. Yes. If you're in FLIR mode, unbox ALG and then if you press the OSB next to ZOOM, it'll change to LEVEL and then you can use the Up/Down arrows to change the level setting. A further press of that OSB will change LEVEL to GAIN and the you can adjust the gain setting. A further press will return you to ZOOM. ALG (automatic level and gain) should be adjusting these by itself in order to ensure that all/most of the output falls within certain limits (so you'd get a good picture), but that's not working in any DCS aircraft, AFAIK. Right now, ALG just stays at LEVEL 6, GAIN 3 (IIRC) and that's it. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
