BEFORE EDITING DCS FILES! READ THIS

Before editing any DCS .lua files which have editable content, never NEVER use Windows Notepad application. Using Notepad have a high probability of corrupting the actual file you are modifying due to a bad recognition of the UTF8 format and might cause problem inside your game and might be seen as a bug but in fact it's only because the file has been corrupted when you edited/saved it through Windows Notepad.

DCS use the UTF8 format without BOM, so to avoid any problem within your DCS installation, we highly advise you to download a free open source program which is lightweight and very capable if you want to modify some editable content. The name of the editor is Notepad++
