Reflected
Hi, Anyone who is an expert in this topic: do you know what were the typical callsigns of Lufwaffe units in the air? Like e.g. in the USAAF the leader of the 334th FS would have been "Cobweb Red Leader". I'm especially looking for JG26, if possible. In the movie "The Battle of Britain" they used "Tomato" - AFAIK Adolf Galland was the expert during the production, so it may not be too unrealistic? Also, does anyone know what the typical callsign of the ground control was? Thanks! Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Zius
Not a Luftwaffe expert, but I did just read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_Hartmann By this time, the Soviet pilots were familiar with Hartmann's radio call sign of Karaya 1, and the Soviet Command had put a price of 10,000 rubles on the German pilot's head.[30] [2] Karaya being the name of the Staffel. Reflected
Thanks Zius, I guess Karaya was the callsign of his staffel in JG52. I wonder what JG26 used. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Zius
I wonder what JG26 used. Schlageter 1? I guess that makes sense, but maybe too simplistic?
