Thank you for this opportunity.

OK. So I will try to argument my propositions best I can.

I wish to propose few planes that will fit into the 1944-45 scenario, having in mind that we will have 6 currently planed planes. I want to make clear that DCS needs additional content that allows to expand possible mission objectives both for MP and SP.

1. Mosquito FB.VI. Fighter-Bomber for the allies. A plane that is both iconic and very effective while beeing very flexible. Both sides require CAS but I think that planes like the Mosquito can be used as a ground pounder but also fit into a fighter role. From bomber interception to bombing of enemy fuel depot. This plane has very broad appeal and can be picked up by Fighter and Bomber enthusiasts alike.

2. Me410B. Fighter-Bomber for the Axis. It would fit the 1944-45. Just as the Mosquito it is a very versitile aircraft that would be both capable of CAS and CAP. I do not want to repeat what I said about Mosquito, but to me it is one of the main German aircraft of the war that needs representation in the game and will provide a very varied array of possible mission objectives for the player.

3. Hawker Typhoon MkIB. A fighter plane that is almost synonymous with Normandy landing. A British equivalent of the American P-47 in the CAS role. Iconic, powerful with focus on the low-level fighting. 4x20mm Hispano cannons and array of bombs and rockets that can make any tank crew jump out of their tank.

4.Fw 190A8. One of the main planes used by the Luftwaffe. It is an iconic plane which also was used in variety of roles. Rugged and with awesome firepower it would prove to be a great interceptor. 4x 20mm cannons, 2x 13mm HMGs and additional gunpods. Firepower and high speed maneuvrability are its main strenghts. One of the most popular German Aircraft of the war. A8 is the most produced version of the Fw-190.

5. P-38L Unique US fighter with many advantages and vices and even more interesting design choices. With dive flaps, hydraulically boosted ailerons and it is the only fighter-plane for the Western Allies with nose mounted weapons. It can be a great escort fighter, ground attack plane and interceptor. Very bold and complex plane that would be both fun and challenging.

6. Bf109G6. The most ubiquitous German fighter plane. With over 8000 produced with different sub-versions it is the main airplane that the allied forces would find over European Sky in 1944. It would be fairly easy to convert the current K4 model and create a new module that would fit the Normandy setting with tons of additional equipment, such as: Gun Pods MG151 and Mk108, bombs, 210mm rockets and /U4 conversion that allows for the same Mk108 to be placed in the nose like in the K4 model.

7. Hs129 Not very many of those planes were available but it is definitely a unique CAS plane and that would be the most specialised ground attack airplane with with many possible attachments. Mk103 cannons and 75mm semi-automatic cannon and lots of armor and pilot protection. Tank-buster that might be interesting to a very big community of DCS A-10C players.

-----------------------------------------

Summary:

When creating this list I was trying to put emphasis on the theatre, time period and versitility, keeping in mind the current ED community. With our current list of 6 airplanes focused so much on the Air-Superiority aspect a big part of the conflict and possible mission objectives is omitted. I think that CAS planes with versitility should be the next priority for ED.

Planes that I have selected would fit into the current map and would have lots of potential to be seen in other theatres of war or in an extension of our current Normandy theatre (France, Belgium, Germany, Holand etc.)

Thanks for the oportunity Nineline. I hope this can help ED with their future ideas.:smartass:

PS. Can't wait for the new P-51D Model. I realy hope for P-51D10 that would fit into the above list.:pilotfly:

Yak-3 or Douglas DC-3.

If the developers want to fight online and increase the interest of the community, it's time to start making red planes. Well, or Douglas DC-3 - he's just a legend, and took a real part in the operations over Normandy :).

B-17 with multicrew is a dream, but...

A-20, Ju-88, anything that is capable of bombing and attack that is not fighter. Imo 4 fighters is enough at the moment, and we need at least 1 ground attack plane for each side.

this+++ we need ground pounders any Russian bird from that era would be cool also.

How is it possible to complete the P-47 if all of the documents have been disposed of? What are the means to complete the P-47? How is time an answer if from what we know there is nothing to work with? The only solution I can think of is to put a real P-47 in a wind tunnel, but when will this happen and is that even the plan? What exactly does time mean? I'm not angry I'm just confused.

Anyways, a P-38L would be nice. More realistically a Bf-109G and Fw-190A would be great.

Hey Norm/Sith/Nine :smilewink: what if you edit/update your first post in this thread and making a (an official) poll with the most famous/needed wwii fighters (what forum members would like to see in these pages)

 and you should make another poll(s)/thread(s) for wwii light/heavy bombers
