AnsemAsphixya
I found this AW report along with one on the Su 27, maybe someone could find it interesting. Part 1 - http://aviationweek.com/site-files/aviationweek.com/files/uploads/2015/01/1990-%20MiG-29%20Pilot%20Report%20%281%20of%202%29.pdf Part 2 - https://aviationweek.com/site-files/aviationweek.com/files/uploads/2015/01/1990-%20MiG-29%20Pilot%20Report%20%282%20of%202%29.pdf It is a beautiful 360-degree view of the Mig 29 and with interesting comments from pilots like Valery Menitsky. There are also quite interesting data that are difficult to find on the net regarding performance. In this report, Menitsky said that:"[...]in afterburner power it normally takes 8 sec. to accelerate from 600 km/h (322 kt.) to 1100 km/h (591 kt.) at low altitude" It's really interesting considering that an F-15 at 43.600 lbs (clean) can accelerate from 600 km/h to 1100 km/h in 13.5 seconds. (10.000 feet) Maybe Menitsky he was referring to a gross weight conf. at about 33.000 lbs as reported in the article. In the other report the Su 27 was a bit slower, in fact, he can accelerate from 330 kt. to 540 kt. in less than 10 seconds. Anyway, i hope you will enjoy the read and that in this section you can also post other information on the Mig 29 outside the game! I leave you with the conclusion of the article: "The Western pilot would be wise to detect and shoot at the Mig-29 from a distance using his high-technology weapon system because if it comes down to a close encounter with infrared missiles or guns, a good Soviet pilot is a definite threat." (The file sizes exceed the maximum limit so i used links.) Edited March 25, 2019 by AnsemAsphixya

AeriaGloria
I always wondered if Lt Col “Spanky” really gave the optical sight a chance. I wonder if it’s maybe fighter pilot rivalry or he couldn’t say anything about it or he just never expected much in the first place.
