Will the backers get hold of the Dora as soon it is released by ED for free?

Hi everyone,

straight to the question:

people who have pledged more the 40$ will get all flyables in the upcoming sim. However, it is my understanding that the Dora will be released earlier as a single module for DCS.

Will these people be able to get it without paying anything more as soon as it is released? Or would they have to wait for DCS WWII to launch?

thanks

This need some clarification, on Kickstarter for both the Mustang and Dora says "from DCS: World".

The way i understand this is that they are NOT included in the WW2: Europe 44 and need to be purchased separately. This makes perfect sense imo.

I think they need to make things crystal clear in regards to flyables included in the free version and with each tier on Kickstarter, especially with the P-51 and 190D being released separately by ED.

Yeah, I asked for clarification in another thread as well, pretty much:

-Does DCS WWII: 1944 ship with a free flyable aircraft(s) like DCS World

-What aircraft are $40 pledges (and over) given if only 100000 is made

-Clarify the inclusion of ED products (although I cant imagine these will be given away, but maybe so if they are trying to help out the kickstarter as well)

My Assumption (Take with a Grain of Salt, and a PB and J Sandwich).

The AI P-51 and Dora from DCSW will remain in DCS WWII's BASE BUILD,

DCSW Modules for P-51D and FW-190 can be installed onto DCS WWII Build, for players to have control of them.

(hence the "from DCSWorld")

Makes sense, but the wording being thrown about adds to the confusion, it needs to be clarified, is ED donating keys to the kickstarter or is it poorly worded and it just points to the fact that you can use those planes in DCS WWII, which if its the later, then the fact is you can use the A-10 (and all other ED planes) in DCS WWII as well, atleast thats how it was stated earlier... (not even released and the two installs are already confusing :)

Exactly the things I'm not clear on from the KS page either. I kind of took it that they were making 3 flyables themselves and $20 got you one of them, 2 for $30 and 3 for $40. But then writing that $40 gets you all flyables seems to indicate that the Mustang and Dora will be included as they're listed under flyables. Then to top it all off further down the page he says that the free downloadable version comes with 3 flyables. This really should have been proof-read a bit better as if people pledged thinking one thing when it's really another thing it could hurt the pledging drive quite a bit.

I have a feeling that the 3 flyables to come with the free downloadable version is meant to mean there will be 3 modules available from RRG at the time of the release of the base... but as stated, its not clearly spelled out.

We need a FAQ thread with all these answers and such stated... these answered strewn about a couple threads makes it hard for everyone to have a clear picture...

I agree. And after hearing several mentions of the Dora being finished, I would love to hear some official word. Whatever the answer is I hope we hear it soon. Beta release for the backers? Just sayin'

Ditto... I already have P-51 and will prolly have FW-190 if it comes out before DCSWWII...

So I'd like to know for certain if Licenses for those 2 aircraft are included, that way I'll know if I'll have extra Licenses to give away.

Glad you guys asked. Hopefully we can get a clear answer cause I'm confused too. I plan on gettin the $40 or $50 package. I'm excited about the P-47. I already own the Mustang module, so whether its part of the package or not isnt a big deal, but I was under the impression that the package deal included the P-51 & FW190.

I'd imagine it means the P51 & FW190 purchased from ED can be used in DCS Europe 1944... but not that they will be included as part of the module purchase.

If you want to fly them buy them off ED, would be my guess.

Oh, and this totally makes sense. Modules can be flown in the WWII, but not "included". Either way I'm gettin excited!

Oh, while I'm posting - when I pledge does it immediately charge my account or is it a pledge, paid once the Kickstarter hits their goal? (I ask because I know when a kickstarter fails your not out of your $$. I just prefer to have the money gone when I spend it, not charged a month later)

Your card doesn't get charged until the KS is up and at least the initial goal of $100k is met.

Luthier just clarified this in the other thread.

The kickstarter and all rewards are for DCS WWII.

We are not giving out DCS World keys or aircraft at this time.

We do not currently have a decision on how to approach customers who already purchased a DCW World P-51 or Dora. There is obviously a planned cross-compatibility, and we're absolutely against the idea of having anyone purchase anything twice. It's just we haven't figured out the technical side of this just yet.

if they both run the same front end, its just a matter of copying the module folders from DCSW to DCSWWII, and modifying the DCSWWII AutoUpdater File to include P-51D and FW-190 in it's download/update list.

Shrug.

Well I pledged my $40. I'm honestly confused about things at this point, but I still have faith. The quote from Gavagai has thrown me. Maybe if there will be a P-51 & FW190 released with WWII, different from the DCS modules.

Here is a quote from Luthier1, on page 106 in the kickstarter thread.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1863250&postcount=1053

Evening everyone!

FREE for everyone:

P-47

Spitfire

Bf.109K

Paid on release

P-51 (from DCS World)

FW-190D (from DCS World)

If you back at a $20 level, you can pick a P-51 or FW-190D.

If you back at a $40 level, you will have both.

If you already own a DCS World P-51 and/or FW-190, then obviously no one wants you to have to pay for anything twice.

If we reach stretch goals, then the story changes.

Free aircraft list will most likely not change.

Backing at $20 still gets you one of the larger variety of paid aircraft.

$40 or above still gets you ALL of the initial flyables.

None of the aircraft released in future updates are covered by any of this.

So, seems to be some conflict about DCS modules atleast. Regardless, I pledged. Honestly, the 3 free would be good for me but I'd be ****in ecstatic if they release the P-38 as well!

Anywho, while that post seems to clearly lay it all out, it conflicts with what's on kickstarter. Some black & white clarification would be appreciated. I'm feeling fairly derpy right now.

This doesn't leave much debate, does it?

ED's modules P51D and FW190D are obviously a part of the bundle. It's possible that this is ED's way to support the project: by giving keys for these two modules. A bit unorthodox perhaps, but it makes sense: it's in ED's interest to have this thing happen, as well.

Also, think of it this way:

If we only reach 100.000 goal, there will be no additional planes. Since the $10 pledge gives you the basic 3 planes, without the two ED planes there might be a possibility that we would not get ANYTHING extra for $40.

So, the $30 difference gets us both ED planes - obviously a donation from ED.
