Quetzalkoatl
In 2.5.3 my mission used to load around 3 minutes max. When 2.5.4 came out it started to load for around 9-10 minutes even though I didn't change my graphic settings for higher. It basically looks like that: -it takes 3 mins to load to part "World Preload 60/60" -then like +6 to 7 additional minutes spent on final "Please wait..." It became a bit frustrating  I had 2.5.4 open beta installed for some time - just when it got released... and it didn't have that problem then. So I have no clue what could cause it. Aluminum Donkey
Are you running it off a hard disk? Or are you using an SSD? SSD is an absolute must for DCS World. A fast NVMe drive is great, although a SATA SSD should still be pretty good. I fairly recently got an NVMe drive, and loading times are merciful in 2.5.4 OB, but still no screaming hell. I guess DCS just has an awful lot of shyte to shovel when loading missions. I remember when I got my cheap SATA SSD and DCS 1.5 would load in the blink of an eye :) AD Kit: B550 Aorus Elite AX V2, Ryzen 7 5800X w/ Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, 2 x 16GB Kingston Fury DDR4 @3600MHz C16, Gigabyte RTX 3070 Windforce 8GB, EVGA SuperNova 750 G2 PSU, HP Omen 32" 2560x1440, Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS fitted with Leo Bodnar's BU0836A controller. --Flying is the art of throwing yourself at the ground, and having all the rules and regulations get in the way! Vitormouraa
Indeed, got SSDs a few weeks ago, what a huge difference! No 10 minutes loadings and stutterings. SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
BitMaster
You must not use DCS in conjunction with a HDD, it's a Sakrileg. If you do so, you will without a doubt, punish yourself. kidding aside, DCS is one of the few apps I know that REALLY need SSD speed to work as intended. The faster the better but any SSD is 100x better than the fastest SAS 15k HDD Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Asus 1080ti EK-waterblock - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus PG278Q 27" QHD Gsync 144Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
Gat0 Loc0
I can also vouch for the absolute necessity of a SSD. NVME will give best results, but SATA III will still be a mind-blowing improvement over a HDD. It's really no longer a viable option to use a HDD for DCS any more. Mr_sukebe
Are other people still experiencing this?
