I really hope that Heatblur will finish this one, I'd love to have it as AI to use as background action on my Viggen missions. On 2019 I was fortunate to see one in person on the Vienna Military Museum:

Nice! I was also visiting Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Vienna in 2019, great museum if one like militaria and European military history. As you saw they also had a Swedish J 29 Flying Barrel outside, another favorite of mine. Austria has actually operated five different SAAB aircraft types, B 17, J 29, Saab 105 (SK 60), Saab Safir and J 35.

Yes, it is a really nice Museum, I'm so glad to have been able to visit it just before the Pandemic .. the Luftwaffe Museum in Berlin was larger, but its cafeteria was very bare bones, while the one at Viena had a really good Cafeteria  (important for leaving the wife there while one roamed the Museum halls).

Yes, I saw that one too 🙂

For me, the best part of a vacation trip is the Museum visits 🙂

Just came across these, while digitalizing my slides archive:

Not really sharp (my slides degraded more than I expected), but it sure brings back memories.

I made these at Mildenhall Air Fete (2000 I think..)

Would sure like to see this baby added to DCS.

AI model would be enough. As I'd just be gazing at it's external looks anyways.

Your post was going so well until this bit of heresy! 😛

I'd love having this interesting, quirky but agile bird as a module. I can see it not being the greatest seller for average DCS user, but Heatblur so far has a history of balancing the obscure&cool with popular (and still cool), so one can hope.

I'd buy it right away.  I think the only threat to it's sales potential is the relatively low number of people knowing it, being a Scandinavia + Austria only airplane.

It's pretty quiry and that's what makes it interesting.

Plus, we'll need a fancy looking mercenary jet to shoot at those Apaches soon...

Heatblur == $instantPurchase

This would also give us a reasonable stand-in for the Deuce and Dart (F-102 and F-106) in cold war scenarios, but I want an AIR-2B if we're going that route.  On the other hand, we're missing so much Soviet iron it will be pretty lonely in those cold war scenarios...all fueled up and nobody to fight...

Incidentally the 'muricans bought a handful; pretty boring livery, but can do the Century Series stand in liveries, and the Draken is MUCH sexier in the air...

Just a short update on this; we've just procured the last of our required scans to finally finish the AI draken and will be fixing errors introduced last year due to insufficient data. We'll update you ASAP on the progress of the aircraft!

Any news? @IronMike When will this full fidelity module be officially announced? 🙃

I mainly fly Redfor but I will make an exception with the Draken!

This will be an AI aircraft ... you won't get to fly it ... but it will be a nice addition to our missions, for added ambiance.

It's been just 4 years since this AI only module was announced. Don't be so impatient... :music_whistling:

During that period the company changed ownership and so their development priorities probably have changed too, plus I can imagine there is a limit to the amount of free assets that a company can produce while still remaining within their resources ... for now, I'm truly enjoying their Forrestal.
