JIMJAM
No doubt that buried in these forums is the answer but I would rather have a $10 root canal performed in a dark alley by a bum with a rusty pair of pliers who has not had a drink in 2 days than read any more. I have 2.5 latest up and running all modules installed. Also 2.2 with Normandy and Nevada running with all modules installed. 1.5 I no longer use but have left on my SSD "just cause" until the dust has settled. QUESTION- Can I now delete 1.5 and if so do I simply go into it's folder and run the uninstall exe?? Thanks ahead of time. ricktoberfest
You can do whatever you want. If you only play 2.5 then just keep that. When it releases out of beta branch you have the option to change over. The only reason for keeping 1.5 is if 2.5 doesn’t run on your system. bell_rj
>>uninstall exe That's what I did for 2.2, after checking twice that I'd copied all skins, mods, missions, input files, campaigns, etc. PC specs:
mr_mojo97
Yes. Hopefully tomorrow the release version updater will come out and then 1.5.8 will no longer be supported anyways. Jim Current 2.5 is Open Beta and will remain so, if you delete your 1.5 release, when the release version is, well... released, you will need to either force your Open Beta version to update to release version or install another copy to keep both. JIMJAM
A chinese type rating is easier than this.......... "Current 2.5 is Open Beta and will remain so, if you delete your 1.5 release, when the release version is, well... released, you will need to either force your Open Beta version to update to release version or install another copy to keep both." :dunno: No clue what that means........ TBO I did not even know Nevada/Normandy were in 2.5. I rarely flew the caucus map so I just "assumed" this new 2.5 was the new foundation with Caucus. Then eventually Nevada/ Normandy would be upgraded to 2.5. ------So now the question is can I uninstall BOTH 1.5 and 2.2 and if so do I just use the uninstall EXE that are in their folders?------ Seeing into the future is there any reason NOT to delete 2.2? And NO I do not fly 1.5. Should just rename them. The OLD one. The NEW one. Done. The whole DCS World Alpha Beta 1.1.2 E=MC2 final stable Alpha is about as confusing as a upside down Los Angeles sectional. "Picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue." cthulhu68
If you prefer using release version hang onto 1.5 so it can be updated to that. If you're OK with OB version delete 1.5 and just keep updating your current 2.5. Or as Sith pointed out you can force Beta version to Release if you want later. Drag80
Yes. Hopefully tomorrow the release version updater will come out and then 1.5.8 will no longer be supported anyways. Is there a reason why you need to keep 2.2? First hot fixes will come for OB version. Then the fixes will be tried on the beta version. Its not necessary that the fixes will work on the first try. There seems to be no chance of release version tommorow. If it comes then it will be nothing less than a miracle.

JIMJAM
Ok I am warm and fuzzy about uninstalling 1.5 via the exe. Will do it later this evening if no replies about the deactivating the modules first in 1.5 before deleting which I have no heard until now. Thanks to all. john9001
The word: open beta 1.5.8 has become open beta 2.5 when release 2.5 is ready, release 1.5.8 and open alpha 2.2 will merge and become release 2.5, you will then have the option to also keep release 1.5.8 if you want.
