@blitze: The whole point of MAC is to keep the aircraft systems simplified - so no hope for more detailed avionics.

@draconus: Not trying to ask for detailed aircraft systems but more an accurate simulation of the systems in operation. i.e. weapons, flight model, Auto Pilot, Radar ECM systems strengths and weaknesses and lastly - AI to use the same systems modeled as the Virtual Pilot.

Also updated 3D models for cockpit and 4K textures for cockpit. ))

But you have just named a lot of aircraft systems which you are not trying to ask for... I'm confused. Flight models for the playable aircraft are not a problem - they're already all PFM or AFM/AFM+ at least (A-10A, Su-25). AI FM is being in the works (for DCS) but it's a long road and even then it will not be even close to PFM for the next years to come. AI uses the same systems which are available to the human pilot - what do you mean? Advanced weapon, radar or ECM are all part of ASM in hifi modules - no hopes for MAC, DCS has it all in the future work. Autopilot is already well simulated in FC3 - what do you mean?

Like others are saying, the point of MAC is to entice players from simpler games by providing an in-between experience when it comes to realism vs accessibility.

You should not expect this to mean adding more fidelity to FC3 aircraft, it is the other way around, non-FC3 aircraft added to MAC package will get simplified.

Also, at this point there is not a single payware aircraft in DCS that use old SFM flight models.

This doesn't mean they are all perfect, but they are at least nominally in the higher end of flight model tech in DCS, and has been that way for years.

It is not unfeasible interest in MAC may lead into imrpovements later on, but at this point I don't think it is reasonable to expect.

MAC, at least what it looks like from what we know at this point, is something that looks like:
A- Get, for example, some of the War Thunder players' feet wet with more high fidelity and larger scale simulation of aircraft.
B- Probably also fill the niche left by old Strike Fighter series of lighter sims.

Take for example when the PFMs were made. The opportunity to sell each plane individually with PFM probably allowed them add AFM to the missiles. While it may not have made the missiles perfect, it is ground work for the future, like what happened with AIM-7 and next R-27 with CFD and autopilot

Set view centring in the UI Layer section. Does the same as Num5, for VR.

Default Where is the MAC update?

Development Report #2
We had hoped to share more information about Modern Air Combat (MAC) this week, but the information wasn’t quite ready.
This was 5 newsletters ago. Did I miss smth? How long does it take to write down 5 lines of what has been done in the last year with some WIP screens? Sometimes its better not to tease people, if you can't deliver. ED please improve your communication strategy! ;-)

It's all relative but accurate representation even if we get simplified operation of said systems.
