Does anyone knows if i put a RISER to the x1 PCI lane i have on my MB i could run that card wherever i screwdrive it without connect HDMI nor anything? (PCI PSU cables of course yes)

nvm: i already bought another 700w modular psu so i will plug my rx480 in my second pc so i can place it in another side of the house and i dont hear the noise of it.

Putting it inside my case along with my 1070ti was only to save on energy (because of having 2 systems on now) and the fact that i had to buy another PSU.

hope this 700w bronze plus can take another gpu more that i plan to buy in the future if this mining ends being profitable as it seems :)

The answer to your question is yes, you can do that with the extra card.

If you are buying power supplies, the difference between a bronze and a platinum or titanium can be worth it depending on local energy costs, it pays to do the math.

Under high load even the mains cable can matter. Several years back I had a system that drew over 1kw and if you used a cheapo cord it would get hot while a heavy cord didn't. Power consumption with the skinny cord was 10 watts higher when I tested it.

I'm not following this path. I am already polluting the environment more than enough. People who do, have already earned my contempt. Wasting precious energy without any reason or benefit (except for a few bucks) is just plain silly - globally speaking.

I pay 0,30€ per kW, that does cut my profit a bit but it still weighs more on the profit side, far more.

Speaking of, I just moved, my rig is still all in boxes but I am getting closer to that room, haha.

Kids' rooms go first, then the other family stuff and last is my pleasure place in the cellar, actually a nice room, large, I could even set up some speakers again and actually br able to use them without getting yelled at. Noise from fans is also no problem, THAT is good :) Tho I can safely turn the fans to 1/3 speed, I still need to have them running all together if I mine with 1-2 cards and CPU. Compared to my pal's rig with 2 GPU's only, no CPU, watercooling is a gift from heaven. mine has like 20dB mining, his is like...I dunno..LOUD !

Cables, guys, when you buy a good brand 1kW or bigger PSU, then use that 110/220V cable that came with it and not by accident some other, maybe from a printer with 150w max.

That can cause issues. Tbh, I lost my "1200w" cable and know the risc I am taking. I have like 20 of those cables and they all look alike, almost. Take the thickest one you have if in question.

If it ever gets more than handwarm, it's definitely the wrong one.

And yes, I had such cables as source of failure before on client PC's and myself, it's maybe among the most seldom problems but does occur from time to time.

so...more furniture is waiting...

lol 0,30euros lmao. i was talking with a friend last night about how cheap electricity cost here, and i told him to grab his last bill and he is paying U$D 0.02 per kWh haha. he said me to bring my pc to his house for mining. Bit, im impressed of how this is going. Pulling like $7-8 a day with both cards and my cpu. and im not forgetting about my new +100fps in every game with the 1070ti haha. indeed a nice free upgrade (for now). Hope market grows or atleast stays like this. 1070ti its on a 6 months credit... for now, it is paying itself. ♥

;) !

I just took some of my btc and placed a nice order at a webshop that accepts btc.

The fee was 10€ worth in btc. I need a new strategy for spending mined money, those fees are too high. We need a pool that is decent and pays in eth or litecoin, something that's widely accepted and has much lower fees.

Anyway, that stuff was paid by Intel and Nvidia, that made me feel EXTREMELY well.

I really need to get the stuff out and let it run, dont need the DCS gear to mine for now, basic case, cooler, done. my bios is set to bypass kb error, the rest is rdp. Think I do that later, it just tastes to good to not have it.

I have done a lot of crazy stuff to earn extra money, from growing "tomatoes" to working extra jobs, this is by far the best.

Hopefully it loosens up some of the supply issues.

Gamers currently are having a really hard time getting just one 1080 Ti, or even 1080, for their PC. All because of these miners buying multiple cards.

Pretty sad.

Mind your electricity bill... hypothetical numbers here:

(200 watts * 24 hours/day) / 1000 = 4.8 kw/h per day

$0.25 kw/h

$1.2 in electric bill

Adjust your numbers as appropriate.

Pretty sad.

I recently just upgraded to a 1080Ti and see that the suppliers are limiting the number of cards strictly to 1 or 2 per household depending on model 1070Ti or 1080Ti etc. As well the box on the graphics card has a sticker on it specifically indicating that this product is not intended for mining!

The card is an Inno3d and preforms very well, Inno3d also sell "bit coin mines" assembly's that take multiple "special" GPU cards which have no video out function just PCIe.

Mind you one unexpected outcome might be that the high sales volumes also brings more R&D $ for even better GPU chips. Well maybe. :music_whistling:

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

Did it do this rate for more than a few minutes? I assume it was mining some unusual altcoin that had a momentary value spike?

What's your typical daily haul with awesome miner had how do you have it configured? I've been using nicehash because I'm lazy and it's netting around .00065 btc/day with a stock 1080ti and a mildly OC 8700K.

Guys.

Make informed (invest in what you understand) investments in the stock market. Don't look for 'get rich quick' schemes. Profit.

EDIT: Expect results to take time. It took me 20 years (ten of that involved no new computer hardware or games and reading used paperbacks) to create a structure that has allowed me to live off of the income. :)
