DCS: Harrier AV-8B от RAZBAM

First flying test of the MPCD. They are very wip but we wanted to test the EHSD compass rose and MPCD page navigation while on flight.

Behold the rattlesnake hunter: An AV-8B N/A in SEAD configuration. The dark missiles are AGM-122, a sidewinder based ARM.

Rattlesnake Hunter:

- 2 AIM-9M.

- 2 AGM-122.

- 2 LAU-3 with 19 HYDRA 70 HE each.

- 1 AN/ALQ-164 DECM pod.

As always, images are WiP and very likely will change before release.

I should have been resting, instead I found myself fiddling with the weapons loadouts.

This is what I call my Anti-Ship load. You are ready for anything:

1 AIM-9M.

1 AN/ALQ-164 DECM pod.

 

I'm not sure if this is possible due to weight constrains but we'll see in the future.

To end the day, here's a picture of the current state of the EHSD:

About the AGM-122: The missile no longer exists because all of them have been used and no new ones have been built.

It was a simple system and worked like the Sidewinder: you pointed the aircraft in the threat direction and let the seeker head search and lock. Once you got lock tone you fired it.

The best part is that the AV-8B N/A Armament Control System does not consider the AGM-122 as an Air-to-Ground weapon so it does not count to the weapons mix limitation. The AV-8B cannot carry more than two different A-G weapons mix. So my Anti-ship loadout is plausible.

Today's work: The MPCD's STRS (stores a.k.a. weapons) page prototype.

This is a elements alignment and visibility test before coding the functionality.

Tooke me three days but the STRS page is now functional. It is buggy but that's to be expected. I'll have it 100% operational and 95% free of bugs by Friday.

After the STRS page the next to be worked on will be the TPOD (LITENING) page.

As promised the bug was found and squashed. Now the STRS page is working as intended. And look! The AA gunsight page is ready as well! Here we have the Long Range AA Gunsight (the small dashed circle) and the Short Range AA Gunsight (the big circle). The long range sight is fixed at 2,400 feet. The short range sight is fixed at 1,200 feet. Now I need to boresight them.

The AIM-9 sights will be ready tomorrow. Promise!

As promised: The sidewinders have been enabled. Boresight mode only at this time. But now the aircraft is fully Air-to-Air capable.

These images are of different tests, but they show how the STRS page works.

Next week I'll start working on the TPOD (Litening) page and then I will drop some ordnance.

Two days into the LITENING pod development and all I have been doing is MPCD pages. There are five of them (actually seven if you count the two service ones). Well, it seems that tomorrow will be the last day I spend with MPCD pages and their navigation, so I can go to the core of the matter: managing the LITENING pod and getting video. Here is one of the MPCD pages, the others are similar.

По-любому в стратосфере:

Тут просто стратосферные аэродромы.

Человек же спрашивал про "дымные следы", а не про вихри. Дымный след на законцовке крыла обычно появляется, если законцовка горит.
