Mission 3 - FPS

Phil, someone suggested to turn off the wake turbulence because it does not scale well with big bomber formations. Maybe you could give it a try? I still suspect the flak and the gunners, though...

Thank for the reply.

I am prettty sure I had the problem in the versions before wake turbulence was added. Until it's fixed, or unless I can get a mission with an air-start right before the RV with the bombers, I'm not really prepared to spend the time flying along from Tangmere just to check if it's broken or not.

Really odd, your specs look more than decent enough.

Can you supply your dxdiag and maybe a shot of your options? Also is this in VR or not?

Sorry for the late reply Nineline; all fixed I just turned off wake turbulence and it’s running super smooth again :) I’m a %100 VR pilot these days.

Interestingly enough : decent specs (as I have learnt) don’t always translate into good game performance or FPS in VR, sure in 2D with dual cards running I was smashing 120FPS but VR is such a different beast which is the sole reason I haven’t upgraded my video card as I don’t believe it would make any difference at all.

Hi guy, in first: i love u campaign, thx for this work =)

i reply this topic to confirm a thing: if FPS drop down, disable wake turbulence is crucial

i've an old i7-2700k with 16gb, SSD and 970 gtx msi gaming, my dcs work +60fps with all, but if i turn ON turbulence ... drop to 5 fps in some solo campaign WWII :joystick:

Wow, turning off Wake Turbulence makes a huge difference in performance in missions with large bomber formations, such as #5 that became a slideshow. My Ryzen 3900X can actually keep VR frametimes under control now. My performance in gunning bombers is now substantially better too  now that I can get in close without getting tossed 🙃
