Simpit Software from SDA

Has anyone made a decent F-15C profile? The gauges are nice, but the switches are lacking in the default panel. I want to be able to control the radar functions and such without using the keyboard.

Hello Womb_Raider,

the DCS ExportScript does not support the processing of entries for the Flaming Cliffs aircrafts.

Therefore, no buttons can be used for the F-15C in Ikarus.

Running Icarus in my cockpit now- looks fantastic! Much easier to set up than my Helios profile and no crashes or freezes so far. Well done!

I still need to run Helios so I can get my Phidgets 64 LED based caution panel to work-

Helios and Ikarus should be able to work together.

You have to rename the Helios Export script (for example HELIOSExport. lua). Copy this file to the Scripts folder.

......

For the life of me I cant find the Helios Export script i need to rename?

Can someone please point me in the right direction? :helpsmilie:

So I figured the export.lua for Helios I can't find would have been the one I overwrote to get Icarus working?

I removed Icarus, repaired dcs, re configured Helios and got a Helios profile working.

I then added the Icarus files, did the mentioned rename and changed the export lua and got nothing.

Helios and Icarus are no longer receiving any data.

Tried it in both the Dcs and dcs open alpha folders.

Don't know what I've done now but I'm over it for tonight. I've uninstalled dcs completely, doing a full clean install of dcs tomorrow to try and figure it out.

Im new to Ikarus, been using Helios. I went to the link on page 1 and it is a bit confusing to me as the statement on page 1 states to download Ikarus and the export file, but there a load of individual files on that same download page : https://github.com/s-d-a/Ikarus.

I have been reading all over this thread but I dont see any installation guidelines? I seem the readme.md file on that page but nothing really caught my eye as instruction guideline. any direction would be appreciated, thanks

The export script package is divided two major areas, the program logic and the module-specific logic. The scripts "Config.lua" and "ExportScript.lua" under the path "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript"

C:\Users\<USER>\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript\

and the scripts "Tools.lua" and "genericRadio.lua" in the local folder "lib" are responsible for all the control and logic of the data export. The module-specific scripts are in the folder "Export Modules" in the path "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportsModules"

C:\Users\<USER>\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportsModules\

In the "Config.lua" file the basic settings are made.

also:

Installation:

  • Please download Ikarus and unzip it.
  • Download DCS-Exportscript from there:

https://github.com/s-d-a/DCS-ExportScripts

Copy the script folder to your folder:

C:\Users\YourUsername\Saved Games\DCS

After that, start Ikarus and DCS and have fun ....

Thanks Sobe, I kinda see where your going with this, but for example, which file is the actual "Ikaris file I need to download as an executable to install Ikaris? I see within all those files :Ikarus.exe, Ikarus.pdb, config.xml, there also a "Fonts" file? Logic dictates to me that I would need to download Ikarus.exe, but then what is Ikarus.pdb for? Hope I'm making sense? The instructions are to download Ikaris and unzip it, but like I said, the 2 files I see right now are not zipped?

I downloaded all the files and Ikaris.exe is the main one. Load that one and then open the folder and load the plane that you want.

Thanks Sobe, so let me ask you this then. When you downloaded ALL the files, You seemingly ran the Ikaris.exe to install the application, so then waht did you do with ALL of the other files you downloaded? What folder/file did you move them to? Thanks,

My saved games scripts folder contains the following:

DCS-ExportScripts folder

Export.lua file.

In the DCS-ExportScripts folder I have the following:

ExportModules folder

Lib folder

config.lua file

exportscripts.lua file

I do the above with OvGME.

note that the export.lua file will only work with Ikarus and not Helios. If you want both to work, see the previous page.

Ok, well, Im getting closer, please dont get annoyed though, but you said you downloaded ALL the files, but i still dont know where you put them? I have attached a sample of the many files available for download, next to the bottom is the Ikaris.exe, now look at all those other files, including the folders at the top, Do I download all that stuff or not? There is an Image folder just by itself? Very confused I am indeed! thanks for the help though.

Here are the latest zip files to download.

I have attached the master scripts file.

For the other download, go to

https://github.com/s-d-a/Ikarus and on the right side, you should see a GREEN button, click it and then click download zip. That should give you all the files that you need to download.

Hello Wasserfall,

please update the DCS ExportScript to the new version.

With Ikarus it should be enough if you replace the exe and pdb file with the new version, with DAC you can do the same.

At Ikarus you should also take a look at the changes to the profiles you use.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

You have to go into the editor mode, then change the x and y numbers. For me, x is 1921 (1920 + 1 = 1921) and y is 0.

Yeah, I tried that, I must have the wrong window open because when I got done, it showed 1 panel for a spitfire on my touch screen.I have to figure out what steps to take as soon as I open the application,,, so where do i find a HOW TO section or FAQ,, I dont wanna have to keep on asking what some may feel as silly questions every time I have an issue. But thanks,,,

Go under the Configuration tab and set the x position to the start position on your second monitor. I have 2 1920x1080 monitors. So the X value for the second screen is 1920.

Do that and save/reload profile.

I did change the X position, and it moved fine over to my touchscreen after I saved it and restarted it. But when I started DCS, it shot right over to the main default position. May have something to do with other files related to Helios? I don’t know, I will try and figure it out.

Back to the “How To”, is there any readme files or instructions or anything at all to guide you in its use? Or is this fend for yourself? Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the software, I certainly could not create this. And I’m not a coder, so I usually have to read something to understand what it is Im supposed to do to make it work, because its not as simple as installing in, loading a profile and off you go. You must make some changes to get it to work for your configuration. I basic tutorial was not found when I searched. Thanks for all your help guys, especially you Sobe, you have always been a great contributor in the past for other matters. It is greatly appreciated!

Are you running Ikarus as a single monitor?

Not sure what you mean by that, but I do have 2 monitors, and basically what I did was open up Ikarus, opened an A-10C.Ikarus profile, selected edit mode, changed the top line "X"position to 2560 (which is the same start point i have set for Helios), saved it and renamed it A10Test, closed out of Ikarus, opened it up, selected LOAD, selected A10TEST, and it positioned itself right where I wanted it, on my touch screen, nice and perfect! then I launch DCS, all is still well, then I select Instant Action, and as Instant action loads up, the Ikarus display comes right off my touchscreen back onto my main monitor where DCS is displaying.

Not sure what the problem is. What I meant by one screen is that in the monitor config options in the game screen, you use a single screen and not a dual screen setup like for Helios. So in the screen option for Helios, I use 1920x1080 single screen. For Helios, I would use 3840x1080.

DCS is set to 1 monitor and main display= 2560 x 1600. I have attached screen shots of Ikarus A10Test profile, DCS Graphics config & Widows monitor config. Maybe someone can see something obvious? The top line of A10CTest.Ikarus is the only "X" position I changed and saved to X=2560
