Talisman_VR
I hope we get historical low level bombing delayed action fuses for the Spitfire soon. 2nd TAF used delayed action fuses set from 0.025 seconds to 72 hours for their fighter bomber activity. If bombs were delivered low-level as opposed to a dive, 11-second delays were fitted to enable the attacking aircraft to get beyond the danger of debris when the device exploded. Delayed action fusing is a fundamental issue for WWII bomb modelling. Happy landings, Talisman
REDEYE_CVW-66
Very good point. Have just read "Spitfire Saga", a massive multivolume depiction of the Norwegian 132 wing, who flew mk IX's from their days at North Weald to the end of the war, and delayed fuses are mentioned numerous times in the attack descriptions and reports just like you point out. However, given that the Spit has 1. Suffered from cockpit graphical errors for 6+ months without repair 2. Still has no working oxygen tank after its release ...I would not count on it being implemented anytime soon.
Grajo
Indeed, Is there any module that has this option for the bombs? Being waiting for a feature like that for the Mi-8 for a while also. Delayed action fuses are really necessary in many modules for DCS. Link to my MODs - So far...
thrustvector
still wouldn't make my mi8 bombing any better ;)
Grajo
Maybe... but for sure, you would die a lot less affected by the blast of you own bombs :smilewink: Link to my MODs - So far...
