well i don't get what ED did then, i mean, if the military already had a simulator, then why buy one from ED?:huh:

 

Because the one from ED is a lot cheaper and catered to the specific need that they had.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

As pointed out above.

 

The ANG has only a few of these simulators that you saw. Getting all the pilots into them just for training the new systems would have taken very long, especially as the suites got upgraded. They used the DTS instead to train a lot of pilots quickly.

And you can have multiple students on the DTS at the same time while the instructor trains them on a specific process. The actual simulator is 1 pit, 1 pilot. Not good for mass training obviously.
