Those two face palms knock some sense into you?

Aircraft are defined as "A device that is used or intended to be used for flight in the air." So it includes Hot air balloons, gliders, helicopters, airplanes...

An airplane is defined as "An engine-driven fixed-wing aircraft heavier than air, that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its wings." So 'airplane' does not include gliders, nor rotorcraft such as helicopters.

Funny, every time i ever got a safety brief from helo crews before taking part in airmobile ops, it always stood out in my mind that every one of them referred to the helo as "the airplane".

As a member of a helo crew myself, I can agree with this.

Technically, a helicopter is not an airplane. However, we refer to them as "airplanes" quite often, informally.

yeah, so how some IRL hungarian chopper pilot draw:

be aware -airplanes always want to fly but helicopters always want to kill you :smartass:

I get the feeling the Huey is ready to rock and roll for a release (albeit beta) but 1.2.4 is not.

I have a sneaky feeling there may be more to 1.2.4 than just the Huey and tweaks. I would not be surprised if FC3 is released also with those wonderful 6DOF pits! That may be contributing to the delay as well. One can hope.:P

yeah, that's why they came up with DCSW patch 1.2.3.10201 (last five digit !) and not with 1.2.4.0201 :wallbash:

few months ago they used last-four-digit patch numbers but now i guess we will need to wait until 1.2.3.99999 come up :D
