nobody can..

Guys..

if you set this (red highlighted)

BloomPowerDay=10

to 7 the bloom is much more acceptable levels without losing the effect

And i noticed that if you use "nv4_disp.dll" as renderer instead of lockon's default, effects are much more "sharp?" dont know the word in english exactly.. but better...

Edit: I use LCD monitor. Dont know the effect on CRT

"Sharp" is exactly the correct word to use. :)

I've been holding off on this until people tweaked it a bit more. I'll try it out when I get home.

Defiantly tone it down from the default levels, its pretty excessive at the settings it comes with. I plan to tweak it to more acceptable levels.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Jeez, some of those cockpit shots look photo real....

That's the first thing I noticed using it, amazing when trweaked this little app.

Btw TONE IT DOWN is my advice but once you get a level you like it is stunning.

yes tweaking is the key. the way its defaulty set is quite high... i actualy have mine down to like 5 on the power setting yeniceri suggested... might do some other tweaks here and there.

make a search at c: drive for nv4-disp.dll ..

COPY that file to lockon main folder.. (dont move it)

open graphic.ini file..

find line Renderer = "DXRenderer.dll";

change it to Renderer = "nv4-disp.dll";

Sorry to break this to you, but this is a placebo, its been tried and tried many times over the years, even ED stepped forward at one point and said so.

I wished it did work and benefitted us though, but it doesn't, all it does is bypass whatever you tell it to use and revert back to dxrenderer.dll.

I love this, it's superb with the bloom set to 7...

However, I can't get the resolution to change from 1024x768 in game...?

I messed around a bit with it, I like these settings :

BloomPowerDay=1.1

BloomFadeTime=700

BloomConstantDay=1

BloomQuality=0

BloomScreenLevelDay=30

BloomCurveDay=1.8

BloomPowerNight=25

BloomConstantNight=5

BloomCurveNight=0

BloomScreenLevelNight=20

BloomAdaptationScreenLevel=80

BloomAdaptationMultiplier=10

BloomAllowOversaturation=1

i tested fps also with and without this mod. It does cut fps with 10-20%, but I

find it to be worth this cost. The GROUND looks awesome with this mod teaked :)

(no more plastic fantastic!)

WARNING FPS COUNTER SHOWING WRONG ;)

OK, I found that changing the resolution in game does change the resolution, but unfortunately, it screws up the menu screen, so if I set the resolution to 1920x1200, I can't see any of the fly buttons :(

I did manage to set it at 1280x800, but it didn't preserve the 1:6 aspect ratio... looks like it needs tweaking a little more, but it's really got some potential.

well, that's the odd thing... none of my settings changed. The graphics.cfg was still set to 1920x1200...

aha... maybe it was that my interface is set to a different resolution (1024x768) that caused the resolution to stay at that size...

let me test :D

Found it!

This mod takes the first resolution it encounters and won't let that resolution change.

I used to have my interface set at 1024x768 as any other resolution distorts it, and then the simulation was set to 1920x1200... by making the interface the same resolution as the simultation setting, it works a treat :D

Better still, but I'm hardly noticing any drop in fps on my Nvidia 7950GX2...!
