overpro Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 :mad: This is not my first thread talk about this, the users from mainland China are still suffering "Master server ping timeout" issue and it's getting worse. Ok, here is one case, we joined a server which was hosted by me, I lost master server connection 4 times within 30 minutes, other people lost connection with master 3~5 times, 2 players were not even able to login to multiplayer at all just because he can't connect to master. Why DCS requires permanent master server connection? If it's due to the IPR protection I have to say it sucks. The connection issue we suffered might due to the Great Fire Wall, but I won't give a s**t about it. The chinese players purchased the game and we have the right to use the multiplayer as other players around the world. Our local DCS community used to be very active but just because this issue only few peoples left. I heard someone said "I would never ever touch DCSW again", "Alright, it's time to go to Xplane/FSX steam edition", "Let's migrate to ARMA3" .... If ED really don't care about the users in mainland China, well, that's fine. More people will give up. overpro = I'm not good at Nintendo Mario and always get "Game over" pretty fast, so over~~pro Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Darkwolf Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 So ED should invade China to destroy the Great FireWall ? :D It is sad to hear from you guys - however i'm unsure ED can bend China internet management. The only thing i can suggest, is to send directly a message to ED staff thru your userpanel on the website, they are more responsive than here. Or, at least, post it in bug report. I'm unsure ED staff really track the Multiplayer forums and moderator may not help.... Well... probably SithSpawn can actually make China policy change. He's kind of persuasive :D I don't think ED don't care about China since they were looking for translators. However, this issue is probably out of their technical capacity. I hope your problem will solve soon. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site. 104th_Maverick Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 This has nothing to do with Eagle Dynamics and everything to do with you living in China. I hope you are not seriously expecting ED to change the entire Multiplayer Connection set up to facilitate you too fly? Sadly, the problem is you live in Beijing, not with ED. The internet restrictions in place over there are what is causing your difficulties, my brother also lives in Beijing so I know what you are dealing with. Swearing about it on this forum will not help you sir, you need to man up and accept that where you live is not a great place for playing online games with the rest of the world. If I were you I would contact your ISP over there and try to explain the situation to them. Well, I'm not 100% agree your point, There are so many games we can enjoy the multiplayer smoothly, the problem here is the permanent master server connection requirement, If ED change this policy then we can host our server inside mainland china. I don't understand why DCSW requires a permanent master server connection. Is it due to the anti-piracy? overpro = I'm not good at Nintendo Mario and always get "Game over" pretty fast, so over~~pro Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
VincentLaw Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Have you tried increasing the "network speed" setting in the multiplayer options? I seem to remember leaving that at the default setting made multiplayer unplayable due to master server disconnections. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

L0op8ack Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) There's nothing to do with the stupid GFW. It's the all about stupid French CDN where the Master sit. We can post threads in the forum without problems, the forum is located in Germany. We go across the same fiber cable when 'Connect to Master' / 'Connect to forum' The difference between 'Connect to Germany' and 'Connect to French' IS: Germany vs French. Anyone closed his eyes and s**t something about GFW or something else, you have to make the judgement: HE IS BLIND AND WILL NEVER HELP, BYPASS WHATEVER HE SAID. L0op8ack Posted August 27, 2015 Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) The following line shows how you reach the Master: you -> your ISP -> China east coast -> undersea fiber-optic cable -> USA west coast -> USA -> USA east coast -> undersea fiber-optic cable -> EU -> French/Germany 2 problems from your trace result ( which I have shout many many times): 1. Heavy packet loss between 9 and 10 It's the bottleneck of the undersea fiber-optic cable between China and USA. If you connect servers overseas in busy time, such as 19:00-21:00/day or weekend, Huuuuuge traffic go over the undersea fiber-optic cable, and this d**n fiber is the only way for 1.3 billion Chinese people No local ISP can resolve this fiber-optic cable bottleneck problem. Playing in not-so-busy time is the only choice. Do some ping test before you double click the MP shortcut. 2. The French CDN problem 16 It's ED's choice. There's nothing your ISP can do, again. Some tools indicate that the packet to master got lost quite a bit in Italy (10,11) and French (16), [font=Courier New]HOST: ud6401 Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev 1.|-- 192.168.1.1 0.0% 100 0.5 0.5 0.3 2.0 0.1 2.|-- 111.197.240.1 0.0% 100 3.6 19.1 2.1 124.7 29.6 3.|-- 61.51.246.125 0.0% 100 4.0 4.7 1.2 29.4 5.0 4.|-- 123.126.8.149 0.0% 100 5.6 5.9 2.8 17.9 2.1 5.|-- 124.65.194.85 0.0% 100 5.3 5.3 2.8 8.1 1.1 6.|-- 219.158.97.186 0.0% 100 36.8 49.3 27.9 78.5 7.9 7.|-- 219.158.97.166 0.0% 100 5.5 11.3 3.1 548.6 54.3 8.|-- 219.158.103.6 0.0% 100 198.6 204.9 175.8 688.3 49.5 9.|-- 219.158.33.190 1.0% 100 194.3 262.9 173.2 625.7 62.8 10.|-- 89.221.41.175 30.0% 100 259.2 347.9 250.9 640.3 64.4 11.|-- 89.221.41.175 34.0% 100 257.4 346.5 249.9 575.6 60.2 12.|-- 178.32.135.208 1.0% 100 321.0 379.1 269.0 788.3 98.1 13.|-- 198.27.73.197 1.0% 100 351.7 357.5 274.6 483.2 51.7 14.|-- 198.27.73.31 1.0% 100 371.1 436.8 349.4 778.9 62.8 15.|-- 91.121.128.90 3.0% 100 380.3 438.7 340.5 719.8 60.1 16.|-- 178.33.103.224 66.0% 100 655.0 446.9 358.0 655.0 62.6 17.|-- 178.33.39.35 1.0% 100 376.7 430.4 353.9 599.6 54.8 [/font] In this situation, I don't think my ISP is able to resolve the problem, is it?
