Eamoe
Hi All, launched the update process yesterday. My version was 1.5.xxxxx, and apparently I was going to update to something like 1.6.xxxxx (can't tell the exact versions right now). I hadn't thought that it would take 15+ GB to update... Indeed, there's the 5.7GB update files, which are then unpacked to 10GB-ish. And I did not anticipate the latter. When I saw the last GB of my system HD winding down dangerously, I clicked Cancel. Which merely stopped anything the unpacker was doing, leaving all the stuff it had written to disk untouched. I now have a system drive with about 1GB of room left. How do I delete all these files? Where are they? Edited May 3, 2017 by Eamoe Typos
Revelation
you should be able to run the command "dcs_updater.exe clean" from a command prompt within the bin folder inside of DCS. LSHIFT + Right Mouse click to get the option to "open command window here" when selecting the <bin> folder. BitMaster
You do know that you wear down the SSD a lot faster with minimum space left !? 20% at least is my personal limit, rather 30% so I can still work with it w/o hitting the limit. Eamoe
You do know that you wear down the SSD a lot faster with minimum space left !? Is this supposed to make me laugh? Don't worry mate, I know a fair bit about SSDs. I wish I had a 10TB drive... but with games eating up 20GB a pop, and the limited budget, that's where I'm at right now... EDIT: excuse me, did I say 20GB a pop? I meant more like 50GB EDIT2: oh and sorry, did not mean to sound rude; you're very right, nobody should top up those SSD's Edited May 4, 2017 by Eamoe Important precision
Eamoe
Thanks guys, the cleanup command did it. Continuing the topic: I've uninstalled 2.0 Open Alpha to get back to normal with this drive space issue. In the Open Alpha folder there's still 8GB worth of data left untouched. Can I safely delete it all?
