1.2.16.38741 not available for some users??

It seems quite a lot of french users cannot update to 1.2.16.38741.

The update simply seems not available for them (error 404 when trying via command line).

Some people (including me & my squadron's dedicated server) had to force an update (via the shortcut in Windows menu) => nothing happened, then launch DCS via standard shortcut on the desktop => update prompt (sometimes doing that several times was needed).

Some other people seem to have no mean at all to update (even after dozens of try of the "method" described above).

I would like to know:

- if only french people have this problem? Perhaps a network problem from a specific ISP?

- if the updater.exe version can be the cause of the problem? My DCS is up-to-date with updater version 2.5.0.67

- any knowledgeable advice (*) that might help?

(*) no need to cover the basics such as how to force an update via shortcut or command line, or disabling antivirus/firewall => already tried for several people, to no avail.

DCS_updater.exe is NOT the problem: guys who can't update have the last updater version.

As far as I can tell, all affected user have Orange for ISP. That's bad, it's the biggest french ISP.

Flushdns doesn't help.

What can affected users do?

Is a tracert useful? to which address?

You can run a tracert, its likely a server relay or hub is.down.

Hohooo... for ED: maybe an issue with what's duplicated @ paris-2.cdn77.com ?

That would explain that not all people have the problem.

Had the same problem, launching the Update several times quickly fixed it... finally updated.

J'avais le même problème, et en lançant l'updater (via ligne de commande) plusieurs fois très rapidement, il m'a finalement trouvé l'update.

change date on your system update dcs and revert your date back!!!

Seems the Internet is broken.

No kidding, all tracert results end at the ominous cdn77.paris5 yadda yadda...

Either the backbone provider has a hardware/software issue, or some assholes are again on a cyber jihad or cyber crusade or attacking internet infrastructure for any other dumb reason...

Not following the news that much currently, but I remember there were some quite successful DoS attacks lately. :(

If it is a DNS that is down, you could try to manually set a DNS server from outside France, yet if it is the router/uplink that is the problem... No chance, until they fix it.

I just think cdn77 is a host/load-balancing provider, as per their website.

Nothing weird here, except that I guess some of the "clones" (for load balancing) seem to have missed the last update.

I don't know if it's a coincidence but when I try to download the DCS World's files from the ED's librarie the speed is very slow.

Never I have this slowing problem, any idea ?

I've tested all the HTTP Mirrors (USA, Russia, Germany) but these links are very slow, since all these years it's the first time that I meet this slow speed...

This remark can help you to found the problem that Friend user meet with the new upgrade ?
