Jesus, nearly 8 eight years ago.... my god time flies.

Nate

Just so you know, at age 75 I will tell you that life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.:smilewink: I really enjoy the A-10C and have ordered the Fa-18. Compared to sims when I first started back in the 90's things have become almost surreal.

The Hog is still my go to plane, love it. A true Gentlemans conveyance. The cockpit and other textures could do with a bit of a freshen up though. Although astounding still and certainly nothing to complain about, when compared to my Belsimtek offerings of F5 and the F86, the Hog is starting to show its age - esp in VR.

System spec: i9 9900K, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra motherboard, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair M.2 NVMe 1Tb Boot SSD. Seagate 1Tb Hybrid mass storage SSD. ASUS RTX2080TI Dual OC, Thermaltake Flo Riing 360mm water pumper, EVGA 850G3 PSU. HP Reverb, TM Warthog, Crosswind pedals, Buttkicker Gamer 2.

With inflation running at around 2% a year, your $59.99 would be inflated by 20% which gives a direct comparison price wise of $71.98.

Another important aspect regaring inflation is that there are several currencies involved, which may or may not develop in a similar direction inflation-wise. Most of ED's expences (salaries etc) will be in Russian roubles, so both the USD-to-rouble exchange rates and the Russian CPI has to be taken into consideration.

I only discovered that particular warhorse mod last weekend, just as I was about to shut everything down for beer time. It's downloaded and placed in the saved games, dcs open alpha folder, but I have yet to enable it in game as for the sake of my marriage, I avoid DCS time during the week. Stuck with web browsing on kindle so my attention can be grabbed at will.

Looking forward to the extra character of a well used hog.

CPI Inflation calculator say that $60 in 2010 had the same buying power as $68.26 (USD) does today. So the modules are actually cheaper now (which is good considering we're basically getting unfinished products - early acces, beta et cetera).

But in terms of inflation the Hornet at full price is only $10 more than the Hog was when it first came out.

Not really a relevant comparison. Doesn't matter about the basket of goods that are represented in the inflation calcs. There are lots of goods that have gone way down in price since 2010, and some that have gone up.

In general - and with some exceptions - the price of PC games has not really gone up much, if at all, in the last few years.

I remember getting the original DCS Black Shark box version when it came out in 2008, and then pre ordering the A-10C when it was announced. It's been a pleasure to see the DCS environment evolve over the last decade from LOMAC to DCS World 2.5 and it makes me very excited about what future holds

$02.3 per day since Nov 2010 for my A-10C. Still flying it after all these years. I expect it and the F/A-18 will keep me entertained for many more.

Exactly, a small price to pay for all those hours of entertainment; I also paid $60 (well, GBP equivalent) in Nov 2010 and it's still going strong. Unlike my car, which I paid £2,700 for...
