HEER meaning

As Esac already said, "Heer" means "army" in german and that is strictly referring to the ground forces branch of the military. For other uses of the word army, like the general term for military forces or the unit size, we use the word "Armee" instead.

If they are used for search and rescue they had "SAR" written on them. Hueys operated by the Air Force had "Luftwaffe" written on them.
