Hello,

I have recently become a huuuge fan of those campaigns and decided to introduce my friends to them and try them out in multiplayer. When generating a mission, I am asked to specify the second playable plane. My question is: is there a way to add another group of playable planes to the script, so that we can fly the combination of, lets say, harriers + hornets + vipers?

Thanks,

Barthek

Hey, Barthek,

I don't really understand your question.

1-Do you want a third airplane to fly in a multiplayer mission?

--> if that's it, I can't do much, you'll have to modify the mission with the mission editor

2-Or do you want another type of plane in the second choice?

--> in this case, you have 3 choices:

-a where you edit the mission with the mission editor.

-b where you change the campaign (check with Cef ^^)

-c and if the aircraft type is in the campaign but not proposed in the 2nd aircraft type choice : you must add a line in this block in the conf_mod :

-- mod M11 multiplayer
playable_m = {
                [ "AJS37" ] = True,
               ["M-2000C"] = true,
               [ "F-15C" ] = True,
               ["FA-18C_hornet"] = true,
               [ F-5E-3 ] = True,
               [ "UH-1H" ] = True,
               [ "MiG-21Bis" ] = True,
               [ "F-14B" ] = True,
               [ "A-10C" ] = True,
               ["AV8BNA"] = true,
               [ "MiG-29A" ] = True,
               ["SA342M"] = true,
               ["F-16C_50"] = true,
               [ "Su-27" ] = True,
           }

Hello Miguel,

thank you for your reply.

1-Do you want a third airplane to fly in a multiplayer mission?

--> if that's it, I can't do much, you'll have to modify the mission with the mission editor

This is exactly what I meant in my previous post. I thought that messing around with the mission in the mission editor might have a negative impact on the script. Now, I will basically add some other types of aircraft in the ME.

Thanks,

Barthek

"might have a negative impact on the script"
yes, this is possible, so in conf_mod, set this option to false :

TriggerStart = false,

Possible to check player location in campaign triggers?

I started figuring out how to build a DCE mission and making a fair amount of progress, some learned the hard way :D

In creating my campaign, I give the player a Ferry mission and would ideally like to require that they actually land. Is there a way to set campaign flags based on events in the mission, or to otherwise get the landing location of a player when the mission ends?

Most of DCE progress seems based on the state/status of various targets after the mission (like units dead, statics destroyed, etc), but I haven't found any additional status information at the end of a Ferry type target.

I started looking to see if I could just add triggers to the base mission itself (condition lua predicate camp ~= nil, then update the player's airbase if they land at the target or set a camp flag, etc.) but triggers created in the ME aren't kept.

Before I embark on trying to come up with a way to add user-created mission triggers, am I just missing something obvious?

Hum... DCE is not really designed to use pre defined missions... the only triggers used are in the camp_triggers_init.lua file in the Init folder. Look here may be you can do something with it : I'm not a specialist of triggers :music_whistling:

In DCE the campaign maker is only preparing a ground unit map template with targets and defenses. He defines units to fly on with specific loadouts for specific missions and then DCE makes everything else looking for target priority, enemy strenght and weaknesses and generating missions with all those elements. Mbot system is so well done that we can think it's like human made missions most of the time

But I'm not a mission maker specialist and it may be possible to add user-created mission triggers I don't know. May be use an existing campaign to make tests :)

New India-Pakistan War 1971 DCE campaign flying the MiG-19P against Indian MiG-21 ! Other versions will come with Sabre (Pakistan) and MiG-21 ! See the first post for links

FOR RELEASED DCS WORLD

The install notes :

To play this campaign you need :

- To play on the RELEASED version of DCS WORLD

- To own the WW2 Asset pack

- To load and install Indian Mig-21 skin : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1850019/

- To load and install Pakistan F-86F sabre skins : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306864/

- To use OvGME (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3594613&postcount=29) or JSGME (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607)

After downloading the India-Pak War 71 zip file please Unzip it somewhere on your harddrive. You will find those folders :

- DCE_Missionscript_mod

- Indo-Pak War Mod

- MiG-19P

- tech

1 - Copy/paste "MiG-19P" folder in your "user name/DCS/Liveries" folder - create "Liveries" folder if it doesn't exist

2 - Copy/paste "tech" folder in you "user name/DCS/Mods" folder - create "Mods" folder if it doesn't exist

3 - Copy/paste "DCE_Missionscript_mod" and "Indo-Pak War Mod" in you OvGME or JSGME Mods folder. You will then have to use the utility to enable those two folders in DCS WORLD main game folder before playing the campaign (you should remove those mods after playing campaign)

4 - Adapt the campaign files to you configuration :

In the "Indo-Pak War 71 - Mig-19" installed folder

* Edit "FirstMission.bat", "SkipMission.bat" and "DEBUG_DebriefMission.bat" files with a txt editor like Notepad++ (free to install : right click and edit with ) You should see for example :

« start cmd /k "F:\DCS World\bin\luae.exe" ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\BAT_FirstMission.lua »

Change « F:\DCS World » by the hard drive letter C: D: etc ...and your game main folder if different from DCS WORLD

To play the campaign you will find it in the DCS WORLD - CAMPAIGN looking for DCE to the left side of the screen (not the MiG-19 campaigns).

Yeah I have a bunch of the campaigns downloaded to see how they work. I definitely know that pre-made, ME-based triggers aren't copied based on how the lua is written. I was hoping that maybe I'd missed some functionality to detect conditions that happen during the mission :D

Now I have to decide whether I want to try updating the event handler lua and the adding to the campaign triggers, or working on the more interesting missions :D

Ok not so bad quality : you didn't install files in the "saved games" (another name in your language : mine is "Parties enregistrées" for example) folder.

Try to find it in the C:/ drive in your "user name" folder (Sublime for exemple I don't know which one is yours on you computer)

Tell us if you find it

Step by step ;)

Hi

In fact you're confused, we're not talking about saving a file or a folder, but about the folder called by Microsoft: "saved game", which, in your language (Spanish?) may be called something else.

I'll be posting a picture soon.

Well, now that we've finally found the right destination folder, you proceed with the installation as explained by Mbot.

Installation:

1. Download Dynamic Campaign Engine and extract to "...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech".

2. Download Battle Group Delta campaign and extract to "...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns".

In the end, you're gonna have to find this

Hey @Sublimearrepentido,

In that directory, you need to make a folder called Mods, then in Mods, make a folder called tech.

So your file structure will be:

\J\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech

Firstly extract the DCE file into tech, so your file structure will look like:

\J\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE

Then extract the camaign into DCE, so your file structure will look like:

\J\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaign \ "Campaign name"

Hope that helps,

Cheers!

No, absolutely not.

DCS is divided into 2 parts:

The first and most important part, the core is where you install it (by default I think: C:\Program Files.... DCS World.

And this one, in general, you don't modify it (or very little).

The second one (saved games), is dedicated for the game options that the user can modify without "damaging" the core, and many other things like mods...
