lwalter
As read in several posts from others here, I have very poor fps on this map, often less than 10 fps if I fly low, whereas on all the other maps I get around 60 fps most of the time and 30 fps in worst cases. I understood that it was not really useful complaining about this poor fps in this forum. However, does anybody know which graphic settings have the most impact on this map to make it "flyable"? iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
lwalter
Replying to my own question here, if it can be of any help to others. After fiddling with the different graphic settings, I found one, which for my computer, bring the most dramatic fps increase on this map: the "ground clutter". After reducing it to 500, I consistently have fps above 40 fps when flying close to the ground, and over 60 fps at high altitudes. I could even increase the "visibility range" one notch. Now, I'm quite happy with the Normandy map and I can finally use it for flying. iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
ST0RM
The trees are your issue, as with many others. Reducing the number drawn makes the terrain look empty and unlike Normandy. Leaving them in, drops FPS. This is the major complaint with the map.
lwalter
Maybe there's an issue with the trees. However I lowered my "clutter/grass" setting, not my "tree visibility" setting. The latter one is still maxed out. I'm seeing plenty of trees in Normandy, actually neither more or fewer than when I had my clutter/grass setting maxed out. iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
