ED better do a good job on the sounds, unlike....everything else. P-47 needs to sound accurate too. Throaty and deep, like the real radial engine.

But I'm really into immersion, so I like quality sounds and effects.

Yes! When a jug flies over at tree top level, that huge 4 blade propeller literally approaching the speed of sound, half the enemy on the ground should be incapacitated by the sound alone.

The more you look at the Jug. The more it looks to be the right size and all the other fighters are too small. The 109 looks like a toy compared to the Jug.

I always thought of it as the Jug being way too big, but still made for an excellent fighter. The Ideal fighter is nibble and small, but Republic said **** that ;). Imagine this freight train spiral climbing away from you at 30,000ft.

The Jug is way too big for what? Its kill record speaks for itself. Although calling it a fighter/bomber might be more accurate.

Small and nimble isn't always the answer. Compare the F-15 to the F-16. Which one is the better A2A fighter?

Too big to be a fighter. Exactly, the irony is despite the P-47's size and short comings it still kicked ass. The P-47 should be called for what it was built to do.

Depends on the timeline. It was an escort until the P-51 showed up, and then was used for ground attacks. It did well in both rolls. It just didn't have the range to compete with the P-51 for escort.

Yeah, they did extend the range on the P-47N, but I doubt we'll see that version. Maybe if we whine enough huh? :)

You're talking about a K4. The same tactics do apply but if you make one mistake in the P-47 you're dead.

Depends. The Germans even used Ju88s as fighters, and with success.

The comparison to me is more like someone appearing with an American V8 Pony car at a race with Porsche 4 cylinder Spyders. Both are fast but have different strengths and weaknesses.

Never look at her from the side, but she looks terrific from the front. Reminds me of that girl that was a bit big around the waist but I still went with.

I just pray ED will get this sound right because it makes me forget all the other planes.

I also pray that some day we get these smoke and fire effects for the warbirds starting up. We have flames for the Spitfire, so ED dipped their toes. But I want some smoke! And for all the aircraft :D

That bird's like 75 years old. It creaks and groans and looses liquids when somebody starts playing with the stick an stuff :helpsmilie:

Question is would it have sounded differently? I presume the engines are all well oiled and maintained, those videos are made by professional pilots who I guess would take off in a rustbucket. In fact they may be in better shape than at many points during the war.
