Combine Arms Price Increase

Keen

Recommended Posts

So I’m interested to hear what all the new features and functionality CA will have with this price increase. By doubling the price we should expect some level of fixes now? Please let us know what is being planned to justify this increase.

Thanks!

CA and other modules has not increase your price, only has returned to the original price previously to the discounts appliqued previously.

In other words they jacked up the price to when it was new and then “allowed” you to use bonus points to bring it back to what it was for the past several months

I'm talking about the 100% price increase of the module that is planned. The current price of 19.99 USD being changed to 39.99 USD as talked about in the latest weekend news. I assume there will be some updates now to justify the increase, yes? I haven't seen any updates in the change log since march of last year.

The original price was 39.99 USD, the 19,99 USD was with discount.

So combined arms is considered feature complete now?

That is unknown actually, the only featured has actually the module description on the shop. If the ED team has plans about new features and improvements, only can wait about them on a official newsletter in the future. Only can wait.

When was it ever 39.99? There's no indication on the website that 19.99 is a discounted price. In fact it's been on sale and discounted on that amount before.

I don't never remember it being anyway higher than 19,90. If I remember correctly, 9,99-12,99 was the common price range for years. As I often bought the module as gift when it was just for 2,99€ or less in Steam sales.

And yes, it is still in Steam as normal price 19,10€.

So if the price now seems to jump to 39,99€ then.... Wow.

BUT as Wags said in one of his F-18/2.5 videos, the old DCS before 2.5 was holding back CA.... So I take that as an hint that Combined Arms will be far more in the future years to come... As for such price I wouldn't take CA at all in current state.

I always thought that CA as being "beta" still was just a "placeholder" and price was low because it was not what ED wanted it to be.

This is where I'm confused. CA has never been at $39.99 so how is it returning to its original price? I would really reconsider charging this much for CA until it's in a better state. This is only going to turn off new customers and make old ones feel bad for buying a seemingly abandoned product.

I understand there have been rumors of 2.5 being better for CA, but there hasn't been any news on it, only talk of increased wwii asset pack, which is only for a small subset of CA folks. All I've been asking is for some clarity on why price is going up if functionality isn't changing for the foreseeable future.

my guess is the new caucasus map will greatly increase the enjoyment of using CA and ED will hopefully see this and improve it/add features which justifies the price increase IMO

I bought my CA in 2014, it was with discount and i paid 29,99USD. So there was a time as CA had a higher price.

combined arms features are being added to new products like WW2 Asset pack, and I am sure in the future it will continue to be added to new units.

At the end of the day ED have a product and they set the price, you decide as consumers what you buy and what you dont.

I payed 29.99 in 2012 for CA and later in the sales I picked up a copy for my son for 5$. Wait or pay what they are asking. If we went back to bartering I could trade rabbits like I used too for my beer money;)

The problem is that I as a consumer have already bought it in 2012. But I would like to have a few million others buy it too so that it would get developed and we would have a bigger playerbase.

Developments for CA, as with all other ED products are on going. As well, since most of us bought it, it has received updates, fixes and additions. It will continue to do so.

Yep, they increased the price. Should be something new for 2.5v.

It's not a price increase, they reset the price back to the original price. Development of CA is ongoing, but the 2.5 update isnt related beyond having a much better environment for CA to operate in.
