LegoHeli
Hey Mainstay, I like what you did with the texture on the gunsight. But I now I want to add my own flair to it, but I don't really know how to do that and where to place the pics. I want to swap out the girl pic with something else. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I am using GIMP Thanks for the help! Download the .rar in the second post, toggle the visibility of the wear if you like. The rar has a psd with a clean gunsight. Save as a 32bit TGA/Targa and replace the file to see it ingame!

Any idea how I could get my texture to pop up the right way with the right settings? Can I do this with DXTBmp? or do I need a different program? LegoHeli
I simply saved mine as a .tga from Photoshop and pasted it into the cockpit folder. It works without any problems. Make sure it overwrites (and take backup), dont just add it to the folder.
Dutchy93
I tried your suggestion LegoHeli, but it did not seem to work. No matter what I do I get either of these outcomes in which the latter shows a tiny bit of result. Is this becouse GIMP isn't the correct tool to use and I should use Photoshop or am I doing something wrong? anyway thanks for your help and suggestions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/chqpyi9pru1xw19/Screen_150204_111417.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/t4tp16zpxo8ozye/Screen_150204_111933.jpg?dl=
Mainstay
Hi Dutchy. Do you know how to work with layers in photoshop? I dont know how this works in GIMP since i use photoshop but at the moment i dont really have the time to explain how to use these programs. I will give you some links to tutorials so you have a place to start. GIMP : http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/ Photoshop : http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-photoshop-cs6/ And also youtube has loads of videos where people explain different techniques. Did a quick search and found a video of someone doing some texture editing in GIMP. Video is not from me and i dont know the person who made it. Also i have no clue if the video is any good but this is what i could find quickly. Good luck :)

I used to make skins for IL-2 1946 and I've attempted to do the same with DCS (that is I didn't get the shape right but the skins work), but those skins only applied to external skins. I've never messed about with cockpit textures, different sorts of TGA-files and the likes. And if I did, there was some sort of tutorial available to give me something to go back at. So in a way: Yes I know how to work with GIMP and layers (just not expert level) but the point is I don't know where to look for the bits and pieces of info I am missing. And in a way I am also stepping into new territory here.

Basco1
Mainstay this is a superb MOD,I hate that bit of paper in front of the ASP block,I particularly like your ' Clean Black Version ' you created. However with all the updates to DCS,I cannot get this to work anymore, and would really appreciate it if you could update this for me please,as I fly the MiG-21 a lot,and would love to use this MOD again........thank you BTW YOUR Green cockpit looks superb as well Mainstay, this is how the MiG-21 pit should look IMHO....First Class. A dream MiG-21 cockpit for me would be to have a Green English Cockpit, with a clean ASP Block.....PERFECT ! So your MiG-21 cockpit below Mainstay......would for be superb,if we can have one like this for DCS V 2.5,that would be really nice !
