Graphics Issue

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, for some reason my graphics have been messed up for a couple of weeks and I cannot figure out what the deal is.

It's really noticeable with the sky at night. The different colors of the sky do not smoothly transition and it looks awful. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the game and that did not help.

I'll attach a screen shot of what I'm experiencing. Just look at the horizon and you will see the color changes and how they do not smoothly transition.

My computer is a i7 9700F 3.0ghz, 16 gigs of ram, and a GeForce GTX 1660. I'm running Window's 10.

Thanks!

My monitor is a Dell S2417DG 2560 x 1440 with g-sync and has a 165 Hz refresh rate.

I attached a screen shot of my in game settings. Some things are off because it lowers my refresh rate to 30 or so. Right now it's at about 37-50 depending on what's going on.

Thanks man!

Hmm, hard to tell. Nothing wrong with your settings at least. Or not that I can tell.

However, on all the LEDs and now QLED I used I see a similar phenomenon. I gather you mean the transitional steps that appear like lines or stripes, rather than a smooth color transitioning from blue to black. I always figured this would be a limitation of the monitors and their (limited) ability of local dimming? (Guessing that you would see less of this on an OLED.) I see that in other applications, too, not only DCS. Some have that, and other's don't. I will see if I can find out more about it. Personally I just dealt with it so far.

It is possible that the new lighting changes simply now show as such on your monitor. For me it has shown like that before as well, however I run on a 4k 55" inch monitor and thought that likely the resolution of these transitional aereas is not big enough, etc. I will ask Cobra if he knows more, because he is the expert, and I am not very knowledgeable in that area.

Thanks for the help! I have been in contact with Nvidia as well about this and they figured it out last night by having me download a hot fix driver that fixed the issue. Now the sky looks great!
