Normandy Map Discussion

The backers get Normandy, WWII modules, Asset Packs and closed access for like 20-40$ total... and I have no problem whatsoever with that. But we who chipped in a lot of $$$, buying all WWII aircraft separate over the years, Normandy+Assets don't get the same access to Normandy?

How is that a fair treatment? huh.gif

Those backers dropped that cash on a crowd-funded project. Half of those projects never make it to completion and the backers are left holding their d**ks. Pre-purchases and module purchases direct from ED are a much safer bet. Sure, we've had to wait longer than expected for some of those, but they've always delivered. More risk, more reward. Completely fair.

You can say it is "only a few weeks away" or that it is not a "big deal". But it doesn't make me feel less let-down in this situation. I am not mad at anyone, just a bit tired that being a good supporter always feels bittersweet.

Anyways, I have voiced my opinion on the matter. No need to dig deeper into it.

You get only the Close Alpha Key for Normandy, if you pledge $140 or more!

IMHO - It seems to me that a contract is a contract.

KS Backers paid for early alpha access et al.

Pre-purchasers get the released version at a discount. This is not a let down, it is a let up and very fair treatment.

Everyone else gets the released version at the full price when it is released.

$40 for all you describe may seem a cheap buy but you could have had that if you'd wanted it. My own contribution ran to three figures so I won't lose any sleep over it but I would feel 'let down' if I didn't get my KS rewards. Without the KS Backers there may not have been a DSC WWII at all or not as far advanced as it already is.

btw I have also chipped in a lot of $$$ buying other DCS post war aircraft which no doubt funded some WWII development.

Agree with Klem.

I was not an original backer and so I will just have to wait my turn. ED made committments to those who took the risk of early backing.

Being one of the initial KS-supporters, I would say that with respect to the path that this whole project took, I´d consider it a fair reward for the very real risk of never getting anything for your contribution. That is one thing the people never had to factor in who bought it later on from the ED store...

I know that bittersweet taste, believe me.

Anyway, I have my keys now and I´m happily looking forward to hear about the when and how...

Bravo klem, I totally agree.

Having pledged a high amount to start the development of these WW2 contents, it would be absolutely ok for me to get no other rewards than the modules themselves.

But if there is a small chance for ED to provide some of the additional rewards, I`m in favour of it.:smilewink:

It wouldn't be necessary to create two separate keys if you were going to. It also would not be referred to as Closed Alpha.

Wait, really? Backers get to try it out first? I haven't been such a good forum jockey lately and I don't know what the heck is going on.

The backers who paid over a certain amount ($140 If I remember correctly) had early access as part of the reward.

When ED are ready they will let us know how the release will happen.

No, i pay 50$ for two Aiplanes and Alpha Access see this:

“ALPHA Tier 1. Everything at the $10 ORIGINAL level, plus a digital copy of all flyable aircraft in the initial release, plus ALPHA ACCESS."

So i must get Alpha Access!

And why i get no Alpha Key?

Ok, but i make my deal with Ilya Shevchenko, Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics why no Alpha Acces now?

This has been addressed long ago, but the short story is you made a deal with RRG and Ilya, he was unable to fulfill the backer plan, ED took over. ED had to make adjustments to make it more realistic, and what I linked is what we have now.

I suggest a forum search and you can find all the discussion about it I am sure.

would have been even sadder if ED did not take it over. But this has been discussed when it happened way back.

Am I the only one who don't appreciate this map at all? I: it is completely FLAT, it has no VARIATIONS at all, you can see only trees (with horrible aspect , looks like fake platic trees and are not realistic at all), and repetion of green/yellow fields, appart from that t he map has exactly the same aspect at every angle, no mountains, no hills, just a few rivers....it's pretty annoying map, once you see it once you get enough of it...and I even bought it.

Even tough Caucasus is an old map, it is in my opion far superior in terms of immersion.

I think your mind will change if you get it, there are some pretty decent elevation changes farther inland, but its not like Caucasus.

You are judging it through YouTube and Facebook compression, you are not getting the full picture.
